Do midwives pressure you if you do not want to breastfeed?

Do midwives judge if you absolutely do not want to breastfeed or even express colostrum ? I BF my older dc because I thought I should and I hated it. It ruined the whole experience for me and contributed massively to PND and then made the recovery harder. I knew it was better for them so I did it as felt I had to.

I remember being asked a lot during pregnancy how I planned to feed baby. I assume this is still asked. I don’t want to even do it once. I had severe aversion previously and I want to take the worry away. Are they generally ok about it do they think ‘fed is best’ or will there be pressure?

I tried to bf my first and hated it too. When I had my second I was adamant I was bottle feeding from the start. I had a consultant come round at some point in the hospital and asked me how I was feeding, and when I said bottle she said 'what a shame'. I said 'no not really ' and that was the end of it. This was a long time ago, but basically just stick to your guns. You know what will be right for you, nobody else needs an opinion.

I had 3 babies in hospital and bottle fed them all by choice as breastfeeding was absolutely not for me.
I had made it very clear from before their births that this is what i would be doing and surprisingly not one midwife or doctor ever questioned me about it.
I didn't care at all whether they judged me or not , my choice ,my babies -same for you.

No midwife or HCA questioned me on feeding . I was asked if I was breastfeeding or bottle feeding and they didnt bat an eyelid when I said I was bottlefeeding mine.

My experience was the opposite. When I cracked out the formula I had more than one say we’re not supposed to say this but it’s much easier for us when they’re formula feeding 😬🤣 My consultant was also happy to prescribe medication that stopped my milk coming in. (Private wing of an NHS hospital).
