Can anyone in Thailand do me a huge favour?

My husband loves a certain type of sweet, but it only seems to be sold in Thailand now. (It's showing in stock at Gourmet Market). I really want to get him some for his birthday.

Could I pay someone to get some and send then to the UK? It wouldnt be a big / heavy parcel.

Thank you so much :)

Good luck! I've no doubt the person sending it will have to pay a shit ton of export tax. Thailand as a whole is a very grabby country.

That would be a lot of hassle for someone.

Have you checked that no Thai supermarkets in the UK sell it?
Are the ingredients available in the UK - could you make it yourself?
What is the sweet called?

Oh, I didn't realise it would be such a hassle. I assumed I would pay the tax.

It's not a Thai sweet. It's a specific flavour only available there.

If you'd say what it is people could try to help you more easily.

Have you contacted the shop to ask if they can send it to you direct

I'm not 100% sure, but after living there, they generally use any excuse to bleed money out of foreigners, so I'd certainly expect some kind of additional cost.
