Any tips for applying thick sunscreen (Badger) to a wriggly baby?

I was recommended badger sunscreen but I didn’t realise just how much rubbing in it took! Are there any hacks for applying it to a very wriggly 8 month old who quite simply wants to crawl everywhere and isn’t reasonable enough to listen when I explain why sunscreen is so important?

Also - please tell me it doesn’t stain? He’s got it all over a brand new outfit thanks to the aforementioned wriggling.

Solar buddies suncream applicator. It’s a roll on with a sponge thing that you fill with your choice of suncream.

I’ve never heard of badger suncream but always found Boots Soltan for kids very good.

I don't know about that particular sunscreen but in my experience, you have 2 options.

  1. instead of suncream on body use a UV suit and just suncream on exposed bits
  2. get spray on suncream (what I did) much easier to get coverage and doesn't stain

I’m not sure this would work although looks great! It’s such a thick consistency!

Have you got a spray you recommend? He has very sensitive skin so I was told badger would be great for him.

Definitely recommend one that comes in a roller or spray - we've always used Child's Farm. We put covering clothes on to minimise the need to suncream, so keep our toddler in a light long sleep top and leggings, and we have the swimsuits that go to ankle/wrist for the beach/outdoor pool.
And I hope this is very much tongue in cheek " isn’t reasonable enough to listen when I explain why sunscreen is so important? ". No kid wants suncream, you hold them down and do it. I use my legs to pin my toddler to the floor for suncream, face wipe, teeth brushing etc.

Of course it’s tongue in cheek - why would
I expect my 8 month old to be reasonable?
When things need to get done, they are - but that doesn’t mean I won’t ask for tips to
make everyone happier during the suncream application process.
