Robot vacuums - help!

All the rooms in my house have significant (2cm high approx) threshold strips at every door. Would a robot vacuum be able to get over these or will it get stuck?

I have a eufy 11 ( a old and basic model) and he treats that kind of thing as a challenge, most of the time he can get straight over if that doesn't work he sneeks up sideways and hitches one wheel over at a time. 😁

I doubt it. Mine can get over most of the thresholds in the house but they are just carpet edging strips. It does get stuck trying to get out of the downstairs loo though and that is just an edging strip between vinyl floor and hall carpet. Nowhere near 2cm.

No mine might try and mount it but would get stuck. I have 3 different levels and have to wait til one is done then give him a lift up to do the next and then the next.

No, that would stop ours.

It might work out to get a cheaper one and just manually put it in one room at a time.

Just buy one and try it if it can't get over those threshholds then do like someone else suggested and just use it from room to room thats what i do.

You don't have to go through all the faff of programming it to map all the downstairs you can just put it in a room and turn it on.

You’re killing all my dreams!

We have lots of small rooms - 20, not including bathrooms - so moving it isn’t going to save labour.

Mine would just double back, if there’s anything nearly flat on the ground it treats it as a boundary not to be attempted!

ScottBakula · 29/04/2026 16:02

Do you know anyone that has one that would let you test it over the obstacles?
