Lick it then put it back in ! Theres raw chicken in that bin and I’ve no way of knowing if the hula hoop was sat on the chicken or elsewhere. Absolutely freaking out she’s going to get food poisoning ! She is only 3

If it was UK chicken, it would have been vaccinated against salmonella?

It’s from Morrisons. Does that mean you can’t get food poisoning from raw chicken?

It's hard to say without knowing how much (if any) she has ingested. But I would say unless she gave the hoop a very good licking and there was a lot of contamination on the hoop it's highly unlikely it will affect her. I think usually it's 1-2 bites (not licks) that can give you salmonella, so I think if it's a few licks she should be ok. I hope everything is fine overnight for you both!

It probably depends more on how long the chicken has been in the bin……

No. Of course you can get food poisoning from raw chicken.

However your daughter will probably ly be fine with one lick of the hula hoop. Just curious - why didn't she eat it all?

I think she’ll be ok.

For some reason I imagined the kind of hula hoop you spin around your waist first, before realising it was probably the snack.
