Best door closers or stoppers for teenagers slamming doors?

Exactly this. We need to sort the doors out as teens and their friends slam like crazy. But I have no idea which product is a rip off, and which works.

TIA

Have you told them not to be dicks and close them properly?

I’ve had four teens and a nearly teen and countless friends of theirs visiting. I’ve always told them to be careful if they’ve been heavy handed (might take a few times) and they’ve adjusted their behaviour.

If their mates are slamming doors then tell them not to or they can’t come to your house! Most teens would be mortified if their friend’s mum did and listen.

Now 6ft elephant footsteps on the other hand… 😂

In the short term, loop a scarf or something round the door handles. Make it so it's a faff to take it off.

And come down like a ton of bricks each time. It's rude and inconsiderate.

My dad was a very easy going man, but door slamming was something he wouldn't tolerate.

I have told them, repeatedly.

The problem you need to solve is the teenagers slamming the doors!
What consequences do they face for continuing to do it?

Have you given them a proper bollocking?

How old are they? At 13 they might be a bit thoughtless (but should be learning to know better) but at 16 or so it's beyond rude to keep on doing something you've been asked or told not to do in someone else's house.

I'd chuck them out each time, but I suppose someone will say it's better to have them in your house where you know where they are and what they're doing.

You can change the hinges. You can get hinges that have internal springs so the doors shut slowly by themselves and cannot be slammed. Save it bouncing off things in a softer way.
Also better for keeping house doors shut for heating and incase of fires. Becomes immediately useless if you have a cat.
