Advice on developing a thicker skin for difficult work situations

Hello, just looking for any advice, or any tools/books/IG accounts you would recommend on developing a thicker skin?
I'm someone who has always cared what other people think of me, and I hate upsetting people or having to face any confrontation.
I have recently taken on a job where I have to have really difficult conversations with people, and sometimes people choose to shoot the messenger (me) which I struggle to not take personally.
I know confidence builds over time by pushing out of your comfort zone, but if there's proactive steps i can look at - im so keen to try and make my life a bit easier!
Thanks in advance

I had read about AI taking over the role of therapists and tried it out for a work situation I was navigating. It was surprisingly helpful, I’d suggest giving it a go.

In these situations it helps to be unemotional but honest about how you feel. E.g. this is a part of my job I really dislike but I have to tell you...
If they are vulnerable people or clients, be kind. Remind yourself they are upset not angry at you and sympathise.

If they are bosses who shouldn't take it out on you, playing Bad News bingo in your head can help. Score a point for each twatyish behaviour they show.

And put up boundaries. If anyone reacts unprofessionally, say, 'Let's discuss this when you feel calmer.' If it's a telephone job, you could try saying, ' You sound understandably upset. Do you need a moment?'
