Cadbury Freddo or other individual wrapped chocolates/sweets

Is Cadbury Freddo still edible?

I need individual wrapped chocolates you don't get in Germany for a larger event. The only ones I can think of is a Freddo, it will also bring a bit of a smile hopefully.

Celebrations, Kinder, Lindt, Tony - they are all sold there so I don't want to take them.

Alternatively, what other decent individual wrapped sweets would be considered British? I am not from the UK originally and apart from chocolate don't eat a lot of sweets.

Unfortunately it's a private thing, not business related so I have to pay myself and don't want to spend a fortune.

What about things like Penguin biscuits and Wagon Wheels or the Scottish Tunnocks caramel wafers and Tea Cakes. Also try the multi pack bags of biscuits like Jammie Dodgers and mini chocolate fingers. I'm getting hungry just thinking about them!

Yes to the Tunnocks, as @properidiot suggests.

Also Twirls - you can buy a multi-pack with single Twirl bars (wrapped) in them. Sometimes these are on offer at places like Asda.

Same with Cadbury's fudge fingers, although these are hellishly sweet now though, like fudge fondant. I think Cadbury flakes in multi-packs are also individually wrapped.

The cheapest way is going to be buying tubs of sweets - they seem to be on sale year-round now.

And Tayto crisps Grin

I dont have any suggestions, sorry but I heard on Mock the Week that Freddos are now 45p each! 🐸

Anything Tunnocks would be good. Or get some sweet bags from Amazon, some stickers to seal them and fill them with shrimps and bananas, or dolly mixture, or sherbet pips/rosy apples. You can buy them in bulk quite cheaply and do 6-8 per bag. What’s more British than a 10p mix? Or those individual packs of sherbet with the red lollipops in? Milky Ways? Curly Wurlys? Finger of fudge? mini bags of animal shapes or iced gems?

Sloupes · 17/04/2026 16:29

Oh goodness, I really want a Tunnocks caramel wafer now. They're excellent and come in a nice wrapper too. Freddos are still very much edible - I think the whole Cadburys chocolate criticism is a bit OTT to be honest!

A Freddo would be great (it looks like you can get in catering sizes) also tunnock teacakes would also be excellent (and available in boxes of 36). Something like bendicks bittermints are very British.

On the sweets front - love hearts are easy to source in mini packets as people use them for wedding favours (but that might mean they are not suitable for your event.)

I would go for tunnocks if they are available to you (and wouldn’t melt - get crushed in transit)

😱That's nearly ten shillings!

What about a Swizzels mix? Don't think they are common in other countries. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Swizzels-Sweet-Shop-Favourites-White/dp/B09YVLNY4V

Thanks, the Tunnoks may also work nicely.

will look through you other recommendations. Thanks

That's expensive! Much cheaper in the supermarkets.

Tunnocks are quite easily squashed in transit that’s the only thing.

Love hearts, Parma violets, fruit pastilles… are any of those very British?
