Ideas for regular mother-daughter activities to help us reconnect

Hi
I'm looking for any suggestions for mother daughter activities that me and my 15 y/old DD can do. I feel like all we ever do together is shopping (for stuff for her). She's not into sport, will sometimes come to the cinema but hasn't the attention span for a long movie. She's mainly into beauty stuff and I'm ... well....not. I wish there was something that we could do together to reconnect, on a regular basis, that wasn't just dropping a load of money (I don't have) on a random activity. We get along fine but I feel like we are just drifting. What do you do with your teens that helps you feel connected? Thanks in advance!

i quite often go out for a meal with my dd, just me and her. It needn’t be expensive - last time we just got fish and chips and ate them by the river.

I know you said she is not into sport, but would she go to Yoga classes with you, or aerial yoga, aerial silks, or pole dancing classes, they are all a great way to keep fit and toned and if she is into beauty she might give them a go.

Other things might be theatre and concerts, during the summer there are always plenty of open air theatre productions which might appeal more than a traditional setting plus all the performing arts and music festivals.

Does she like animals? If so what about you both volunteering at an animal rescue or shelter.

We go swimming together or for coffee.

We go for a little drive or a walk.
Also- we’re both into history and bookshops, so often do a day trip based on those.
A nice cafe for a matcha.

thank you! some great ideas here! I will definitely check out aerial yoga! I'd love to do volunteer work with her and that is a brilliant idea- except that she is not very philanthropic :-( My DS might be a better bet for that as he is more so, but at the moment he's only 12. I will definitely look out for some of these ideas. Thanks for taking time to reply, it is appreciated!

Do you have any skills or hobbies you could teach her? Sewing? Painting? Crochet? A musical instrument? Or learn something new together.
Does she enjoying cooking or baking? There are lots of cookery classes on offer, maybe a favourite cuisine, sushi making, confectionery?
If she enjoys shopping how about you let her try selling on vinted? Take her shopping in charity shops looking for items that would resell for a profit on vinted.
Is there a room in the house that needs a refresh that you could design and renovate together?

I go the gym with mine

Charity shop shopping
coffee out
grocery shopping together
baking together
tv box sets

It is based around my daughter's interests, what is she doing subject wise at school?

We both love going to gigs and festivals, brunch is a big hit, have a coffee and chat, shows at the theatre. Going for a long drive works well, I ask her to pick the soundtrack.

At home there's a co-op game overcooked which is fun to play, as well as Minecraft for a nostalgia hit, re-runs of sitcoms.
