Good morning all! What are you all up to today?

I'm in my conservatory spot, just drinking my first cuppa of the day. Boy cat is diving round like a loon & girl cat had pinched a tiny clothes pattern I made ages ago for a peg doll - I've just taken it away.

My plan today is to actually finish off the kitchen - it's taken longer than I thought but today should be it! There's a little bit more painting to do, and then a bit of diy that hopefully won't take long!

Once that's done, I need to head to the small Asda down the road. We've been running on fumes for the past week ish so really need to do some sort of shop!

Dd2 will probably revise something and have a nap 💤. I'll make sure she has ten mins tidying her room too - that tactic seems to work better than a big tidy.

Tea will be leftover takeaway, with a glass of wine for me, followed by showers, finally finishing my crochet church, and an early ish night for me 💤.

What about all of you? 🙂

Took DDog to pet shop this morning for supplies, she loved it. Well into the 2nd trimester now so did loads of cleaning in the kitchen before having a break for early lunch and a chocolate ice cream.
Still got lots of cleaning and laundry to do while I make the most of having a mostly empty house today. Need to repot spider plants which are growing madly, finish decluttering and cleaning kitchen (we had lots of deliveries of DIY materials last week of projects which have only partially been completed so need to move them into another room), finish unpacking into wardrobes, and clean bathrooms.

Good afternoon @lucysmam and everyone.

Been up since shortly after 8. Helped my neighbour with an obvious solution to a dilemma he had before my first cuppa. Won’t let him forget that! Did my puzzles with some tea. Tried doing boiled eggs in the air fryer for breakfast. Worked ok. Emptied dishwasher. Put some washing on. Went out for a very breezy walk. Just sitting with a coffee now and came for a relaxing read of this thread.

Not sure what to do for the rest of the day. Was supposed to be gardening. We have a new gravel garden along the side of the house and I am gradually planting all the beds. Was hoping to get the last small bed done today and get started on prepping the longer beds along the fences. Might be too windy and cold though. If I don’t go into the garden I’m going to tackle a small pile of ironing. And maybe look at paint colours to paint a currently grey cupboard. I’m thinking green.

@KnitWitsAnonymous tried bullet journalling a few years ago. Bought lots of lovely stationary supplies and found I was just using it as displacement really so I stopped. I’m a class one procrastinator and for me it was just fuelling that. I might hunt out my supplies and try and get back to it in a more organised and sensible way.

@Tiddlywinks63 - hope you are okay. Not sure what your diagnosis is and obviously you don’t have to share but sending you some positive thoughts.

@FamingolosForDays - my friend is going to Twickenham today too for the first time. Enjoy. I’m Irish so supporting the other team!

@Simonjt - hope DD’s MRI went ok.

@DilemmaDelilah - Team Takeaway Curry here too!

I’m on day 12 post hip replacement and still in a considerable amount of pain.
It’s been much, much harder than I thought it would be and I’m feeling a bit sorry for myself.
I managed to wash my hair over the bath this morning and put fresh pyjamas on.
Dh is going to make gammon with cauliflower cheese for dinner tonight which is one of my favourite meals so looking forward to that 😋

Well it’s afternoon… we flew in from the US yesterday and I didn’t sleep at all on the flight so was exhausted yesterday. Went to bed early and was quite surprised that when I eventually woke up properly this morning it was after 11am! Cats were hungry! But forgiving as one is snoozing beside me now…
When I eventually do get properly up I need to get to the shops. We had a Tesco delivery yesterday but our oven is not working properly- the people staying said they had fixed it (one is quite handy) but they hadn’t really and all of the meals I had planned need an oven. My son is already back at work but has checked in to say all well (he doesn’t live with me but came on the holiday). My DD is still in bed. We were with family so washed everything before we came home so no laundry needs doing thank goodness. Just the food shop plus the pain of sorting (and paying for) an appliance repair!

Up early, as usual, and straight into the car to do the supermarket shop. Asda first, and then to Waitrose. Then to Greggs for my free (with octopus energy) hot drink.
Home to drink said drink, and phone my mum, who got home late last night from a holiday to Northern Ireland. It seems like she had a very nice time, got lucky with the weather, but she did say it seemed quite poor and downtrodden.
I went to NI about 3-4 years ago, and wouldn't have really said the same thing. But I'm from a large town with all walks of life, whereas mum lives in a very affluent, upper middle class town in an area of outstanding natural beauty. So very different frames of reference.

Went to the garden centre after chatting with mum. Wanted some concentrated weedkiller, so I can pop it in a watering can and cover a larger area. Think I've found the right stuff. I almost bought this years strawberry plants on impulse, but personally think it's a bit early. Will give it another couple of weeks I think.

Home to potter in the garden a little bit. The potato plants in grow-bags have shot up with a few days warm weather, so needed topping up with soil.

Will do a "sort of roast" later with chicken thighs, roasties and stuffing. Quicker and less hassle than roasting a whole bird.

Currently looking out the window and trying to decide if it's too windy to go and do some weedkilling now. The sun is shining after a drizzly, grey start, so I think I'll chance it.

Good evening @lucysmam & everyone. Late to the party again! Quite a busy day. Awake early & DH brought me a cuppa but it was too milky so I made another. Did various jobs including the dishwasher & laundry. I sold a dress on Vinted but spotted a stain so will need to sort it with Vanish. Cost me a tenner & sold for £15. It was worth paying for a showcase as quite a few items have been favourited & I’ve also sold a ring & a Joe Browns dress. Have to watch how much I spend on bumping though. Spent some time playing with the rabbits. DH & DD17 clashed again. They do seem to bring out the worst in each other 😢 Did a 4 hour shift which was busy in parts but nowhere near as busy as I thought it would be on a Saturday in the Easter hols. Then bought a few bits in the store including straw for the bunnies and, very exciting, a new peg basket & super strong pegs! Finished off at Tescos where lots of the service tills were inexplicably closed even though the store was packed. Now watching BGT & about to have pizza for tea. Mine is garlic & cheese with cheese stuffed crust. May have a chocolate brownie dessert after.
