I've fallen into the trap of cooking separate meals for my fussy children. I've been quite poorly this year and recently been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. I really need to try and reduce my workload and we've been doing just one meal every night this week (with varying success!). Would really love for some simple family meal suggestions to try, have recipe fatigue going through ideas at present

Cottage pie - batch cook the mince and freeze. Frozen mash is a god send too.

spag bol

thai pork - soften onions, pork mince, add soy dark and light, add juice from 2 limes, salt pepper and teaspoon (level) sugar.

spicy bean curry - madhar jaffrey receipe

all of the above I batch cook and freeze.

This weeks menu
Sausage casserole
katsu chicken and rice
tandoori chicken in flatbreads with salad
a tray bake with cod, new potatoes, lemon wedges, broccoli and peas
Honey, garlic and ginger prawns with stir fried veg and rice noodles
chicken fajitas
Mediterranean vegetable and mozzarella pasta bake

Most things can be deconstructed, picking out the bits you don’t like is fine! Every thing gets served with salad or veg.

I sympathise as I have one fussy child and it can be a challenge. It might be useful to list the things your fussy children reject? Is it flavours, textures, vegetables, meat? My fussy child rejects textures, veg and meat so it's quite challenging.

I find meals where everyone can select what they want work well e.g. Fajitas where there's salad, cheese, hummus, chicken etc in separate bowls. The fussy one can pick at the bits they want and I will add a bowl of tuna for them to get some protien. Jacket potatoes also because you can add a mix of toppings and serve salad on the side. Tray bakes actually work well too, slice up potato wedges, other veg and add meat. E.g. sausages, potatoes corn on the cob and cherry tomatoes. Salmon, new potatoes greenbeans and tomatoes. Slow cooker, stews, bolognaise etc. Things like pulled pork or chicken with burger buns and salads and sides they can chose from.
