Easter bunny ideas

Hungrycaterpillarsmummy · 04/04/2026 22:13

I've done a hunt but it's not very big and I think I need to have some proof the bunny's been in and had a bit of mischief about him.

Any ideas? I'm not doing flour footprints.
The kids left out lettuce and a carrot and some water so I'll make sure those have been tampered with.

Anyone have any fun ideas please?!

Do you have any cotton wool?, maybe wrap a bit around a door handle or leave some near the door… a bit of bunny fluff left behind.
Chocolate buttons/raisins for rabbit droppings - I have a 4 year old boy so poo humour is a big hit in our house.

I do giant chalk bunny footprints on our path / patio (our egg hunt is always in the garden, but getting much harder to hide them without being seen! Had one disastrous year 3 years ago of setting them all out the night before and come morning all of it having been eaten by a fox/cat/other creature... Massive fail!)

Oh gosh @JimJamJelly how did you save that Easter?!

I don't have balls of cotton wool unfortunately but what I have done is written a funny note and left it at the top of the stairs, I scattered some small pieces of the lettuce around and trailed a few pieces down the stairs. I have taken some more carrot, chewed it up and then thrown in around the house in the vicinity of where the eggs are hidden 😂😂😂
Robovac will be busy tomorrow! I'm sure that'll be ok. But next yr it's not Gona wash too much when my eldest will then be 7.

I’ve just read on another thread about The Easter bunny being ‘a thing’. Totally new to me. Can I ask how old your kids, and how long has the Easter bunny been a pseudo Santa Claus? And not spring with chicks etc. in fact, growing up, I think there were more Easter chicks around, then rabbits. And of course, the Christian origins.

The Easter bunny was a “thing” in the early 1980s for us as kids. But, nowhere near as serious as father Xmas or the tooth fairy :-) - we always knew it was parents hiding the eggs for us but the game was to pretend it was the Easter bunny hiding them and we all played along.

I had this once. Left them out night before and they were either melted or eaten by a fox. TBH we have never done Easter bunny in this house. I didn’t know it was really a thing.

I'm 49 this year and The Easter Bunny was a thing for me growing up.

Anyway, my boys had a great time looking for the eggs. They loved the note and the bits of carrot/lettuce.

Lots of fun!

We've never done the Easter bunny and only did an indoor egg hunt a couple of times. This year i decided it was cheaper to buy bars of chocolate than an overpriced egg so that's what we've done
