Looking to send some brownies as a gift and wondering who to use. Bloom and Wild? Cutter & Squidge?

I'd make them myself. They aren't difficult to cook.

There’s always one smug and condescending twat on a thread isn’t there?

Not everyone is good at baking.
Not everyone has the time to do the baking.
Not everyone enjoys baking.
Not everyone has the ingredients to make brownies at home and doesn’t want to buy a ton of ingredients for a small box of brownies that they’ll never touch again
Not everyone is sure in the best way to package a gift like this
Not everyone has easy access to somewhere to be able to post the brownies

its always a good idea to check your privilege before posting.

OP ignore anyone making comments like the above. I love baking, and make a mean brownie - but I’d still buy some professional ones for a gift for a friend.

You think cooking is a privilege? OK Felicia. I'd call someone who wants to pay a 120% markup on some flour, eggs, butter and sugar privileged. Especially when, heaven forbid, the bulk of the work can be avoided with baking kits in the supermarket for less than the price of one 'artisan' brownie.

Well you’ve assumed the person even has an oven etc. Privilege.

Bjorkdidit · 06/04/2026 11:17

It's way over 120%. Brownies are the easiest thing to make, you don't need to do any tedious creaming and you can make a whole tray for the cost of one artisan one, and that's before you're paying for postage.

Bjorkdidit · 06/04/2026 11:20

Only on Mumsnet would someone not have an oven or even an air fryer but be in a position to pay over £20 to have a small amount of cake delivered.

Hillytentty · 06/04/2026 11:22

I wouldn't want a food gift not made in a commercial rated kitchen. Gift bought brownies all the way for me. I think lots feel the same.

IloveJonBonJovi · 06/04/2026 11:25

really disappointed in myself. I live not 20 minutes away from Gower and I’d never heard of them.

Denim4ever · 06/04/2026 11:27

I was sent some from Bloom and Wild, they were really nice. Noting these other recommendations thanks to this thread 👍🏼

rainbowunicorn · 06/04/2026 11:28

Fuck sake. If OP wanted to bake the bloody brownies I'm sure she would have done. She asked for recommendations on a company to buy them from. Why even bother to reply if you aren't contributing to the OPs question?

OP, I agree with pp Gower Cottage are lovely.

beautyqueeen · 06/04/2026 11:29

The Hedgehog Bakery do postals, they’re amazing, love it when they come to our local food festival!

Renter2026 · 06/04/2026 11:44

Gower Cottage or Sponge.co.uk

Oh FGS! Not everyone has the time, the ingredients, the electric / gas cost to cook them, the right tin to use, the time to find a suitable box where they will be protected, a trip to the post office, the postage. FGS just use a specialist company like the OP asked for.

Exactly. As if OP wouldn’t have decided already that the best option was a gift option rather than her baking.

Three sisters bakery or bayside are really good. I now need to try gower!

Goodwitch9 · 06/04/2026 12:44

Thanks everyone. Hopefully the recipient will have a lovely surprise arriving soon. They were kind enough to drive several hours out of their way to take me to a funeral and I just wanted to do something nice for them.
