Help! Holyhead to car hire Emergency info needed

Help! DH has to get him and ASD teen (so not super agile or able to move quickly) from holyhead ferry to Enterprise car hire in 45 mins between the ferry docking at 5.15 and Enterprise closing.

Despite it looking fairly close for a determined adult to walk, my DH is worried they won't make it in time.

Enterprise at Holyhead aren't answering the phone.

Has anyone done this particular trip/is a taxi possible/can enterprise be contacted and asked to stay open for a small cash payment?

This is an emergency trip so not pre planned until last night and they have to get that car!

Any info would be so helpful thank you!!

It says in the OP the ferry docks at 5.15

Maps says it’s a 13 minute walk so if the ferry docks on time then it should be fine. Can he leave the teen in the port and walk himself or is that not suitable?

Tacsi Zoe 07979030698 are reliable in the Holyhead area.
I’d pre-book.

Thanks so much!

Does anyone know if foot passengers get off first/at the same time as the cars?

It sounds like Enterprise at Holyhead may not be very responsive, which could be stressful in a tight timeframe like this. Their lack of phone support makes coordinating last-minute needs difficult.

@LittleEmily yep!!

Have you tried asking the ferry company what time foot passengers are usually let off the ferry?

I don't use ferries a lot but some years ago went on the overnight Liverpool to Dublin ferry, which runs between 10 pm and 6 am. I foolishly thought this meant I'd get 8 hours of blissful sleep but what I didn't realise was that 6 am was more like the time that they expected to have finished unloading and in reality we were knocked up not much after 4 and expected to be in our cars ready to unload well before 5 am. So it could be that they will be allowed off the ferry before 5.15, giving them a bit extra time to get to the hire car place.

You can usually pay extra for a late collection - can you email them?

I'm not sure that a taxi will save much time for a 13 minute walk. They'd have to pick you up right on time and there would need to be a direct driving route, which may not be the case in the vicinity of a ferry port due to one way systems, pick up locations and low speed limits.

Actually I take it back I finally got through spoke to a lovely lady who I won't name on here but she couldn't have been more helpful and confirmed they can charge a fee to stay open for us..
Well done enterprise 😁

Used to be foot passengers off first but it's been a while since I used it.

I think foot passengers must be let off first or at same time as there's very little delay between docking and disembarking on foot. I did that journey a lot but admittedly not for about 20 years now.

Thanks all.
There's a taxi waiting for them and the car hire place will stay open hopefully.
