Hi ladies, I need some help. I’m looking to lose weight but I don’t eat breakfast. My mornings are quite busy with getting the kids ready and dropping them to breakfast club then when I get to work I have only about half an hour before the kids come in (I work in a school). Sometimes I try to eat during that half an hour but it’s in a rush and I end up feeling bloated after. I’ve been looking at protein powders because then I could drink it on my way to work (I walk btw) but nothing seems high enough in protein and I don’t know what to choose. Has anyone tried any that’s been helping? Thanks in advance

I drink For Goodness Shake from Tesco, 35g of protein in 330ml. Just a yummy chocolate milkshake. Protein powders taste rank imo.

Some Greek yogurt with H+B vanilla (or any flavour) protein powder would help I think. Quick and easy and you can water it down to drinkable consistency. Good for the gut too if you bloat. That's what I do anyway. I put it in a screwtop smallish jar and chug on my walk. I add mushed fruit and milled seeds if I'm eating, not drinking it, but you can omit that for walking.

Optimum nutrition protein powder is the best imo

Huel is a meal replacement which is nutritionally complete. Protein powder is really a supplement. It depends what you are really looking for and what your nutritional needs are. If you're looking for a convenient breakfast, go for Huel.

@DuchessofStaffordshire I’m not looking to replace a meal, I want to increase my protein intake but I don’t eat breakfast. I haven’t ever since I can remember and I know that could be one of the reasons why I struggle with my weight.

I use the PHD plant one and mix with almond or oat milk. It’s fine but nothing exciting. They are all much the same, I just get the PHD one because it’s easy to buy in Tesco.

Look at My Protein or the Protein Works for cheap protein with lots of flavours.

Just grab a bag of whey protein from the supermarket then. Lidl do a relatively cheap one (£10 ish I believe) which is well balanced in terms of amino acid profile. They are all fairly similar to be fair. Whey is considered a complete protein and is better absorbed by the body so I'd go for that unless you are a vegan or lactose intolerant. I don't use vegan whey as it makes me really bloated and gassy!
