Certain Items Not Shifting On Vinted

I have quite a lot posted on Vinted atm & I’m finding that certain things either don’t get favourited at all or very rarely eg Joules tops. At the other end of the scale, I have items that have been favourited loads of times but just don’t shift even if I offer a lower price. Any advice? I know I won’t retire on the profits or anything but it would be nice to make a reasonable amount. Showcasing or bumping sometimes helps but it defeats the object if you’re spending loads on that.

I find that it’s best to sell one type of thing on a page and not mix up different items.

Are you ironing the stuff and making sure the photos look as good as possible?

I must admit, I did think the other day that it would be good to take some fresh photos.

I'm a full time reseller, but I don't use vinted. It's like houses,I find. If something is not selling it's either price or presentation. If you have lots of views and no watchers at least people are seeing the item so it's probably the picture not making them click. If you have loads of watchers then the pric3 isn't appealing enough and they are waiting for you to reduce it. Or if it's expensive waiting for pay day. If both are low it's time to end and relist.

A joules t shirt is a below £10 item however good you make it look it's competing with hundreds of others, so you need to price it at about £5 and it should sell.

You need scroll stopping photos and fully filled out descriptions for the algorithm to pick your item up and don't have for example loads of one item, dresses t shirts etc as you are competing with yourself. I list ten items a day and never duplicates so today a coat a blouse a jumper running spikes, bag, scarf t shirt, hoodie , cycling top etc and the same tomorrow

Sometimes I repost something and then it sells op.

Have they been live for a while? I find if I take something down & relist it often then sells. I think it must reboost it.

I don't sell on Vinted but do buy occasionally. I won't look at anything creased or not photographed properly. Also please include measurements if appropriate. I've had to ask numerous times the length of trousers, dresses etc. Im short!

I always put measurements in my listings and get asked for them all the time. They are right there!!!

I find things sell better if I include I picture of me wearing it. But I only really bother to do that if it’s a nice item and I want to get a decent price, or something’s been on for ages.
recent example is a fit and flare skater dress that looks lovely on but just like shapeless fabric on the hanger.

It is interesting that you mention Joules tops because I have both sold and bought a lot of Joules clothing due to changing sizes during weight loss.

I have always sold mine easily.

How much are you listing them for?

A lot of people set a price limit when searching so if you are setting the price higher than the average Vinted price they won’t see them.

I don’t necessarily mean the pittance which Vinted always tries to suggest but you have to be realistic.

Another buyer here, although ds sells his branded stuff quite often. I look for good photos in natural light so you can see the colour more accurately. Ironing is essential and displayed in such a way that you can see the shape of the garment properly. A close up of the label and fabric is good too. Imperfections won't put me off but this needs to be reflected in the price and in the photos and description.

I buy quite a lot and occasionally sell items and say the following is what I look for on a listing:

  • the size is listed correctly (especially since Vinted messed with the system a few months ago). I’ve noticed so much clothing is categorised as one size but a photo or the description show another
  • Multiple photos of the clothing is essential, plus the size label too
  • Clothing is ironed and clean
  • Not photographed on the kitchen floor which quite a few people do, or taken from a distance showing a very messy or dirty-looking room. Sorry but ugh.
  • If photos are not cropped or taken from quite a distance then I think why do you not want buyers to see this item up close?
  • Realistic pricing
  • Be honest about any imperfections and show photos of these
