I am going to a matinee performance at the Theatre Royal, can anyone suggest a good place to park from about 10am to 6pm? TIA.

Is getting the metro into town not an option? Far cheaper.

Manors multi-storey is usually less well used than Dean Street multi-storey and it's cheaper. It's at the bottom of Pilgrim Street adjacent to Grey Street where Theatre Royal is. It's about a 5 minute walk

We are driving from the south on the A1 so still need park somewhere.

There’s a very large multi storey at Haymarket. Exit via John Lewis and into Eldon Square and it’s a short walk. Eldon Garden has parking too. Manors and the Quay Side car parks are short enough walks but make sure you leave the quay side car park at the entrance on the higher level otherwise you’ll have a long walk!
Dean Street car park gets very busy so perhaps best avoided.

Actually if you’re on the A1 you could do park and ride for the metro from Kingston Park to save driving into the city centre. Get off at Monument.

Many thanks for the helpful advice. A neighbour has pointed out that I can get cheap parking at a nearby station and catch the train to Newcastle central station. Good price with my Railcard.

I was just going to suggest getting the train, it’s so easy. The station is pretty much right in the centre and handy for everywhere. My son lives in Newcastle and I only drive if I’m going directly to his house.
