How much exercise is too much exercise?

Since I retired, my week looks like this:

M - 1hr run with speedwork intervals followed by Yoga.
Tu - Spin class followed by weights workout. 1 hr running club in the evening.
W - 1hr run, more intervals, yoga.
Th - Spin class, weights, run club.
F - 30 min run plus plyometeic workout, Pilates.
Sa - parkrun
Su - Long run, up to 2.5 hours.

I also walk everywhere, probably 25 miles per week and am in the midst of a house and garden renovation project so afternoons are gardening or DIY so I'm active all day, but then I think I would be if I had an active job.

I know it looks like there's no rest scheduled, but most weeks other commitments will mean I have to skip one day.

I feel really well on it and long standing niggles are no worse, but I do worry there comes a point when youre doing more harm than good to an old worn out body.

I haven't started overnight, I've been a regular runner for 20 years, but have definitely increased since I've had more time.

I'm wondering if I could add a couple of Fortis classes....

I think if you've built it up slowly and you can manage that without being exhausted then it's fine.

Just make sure you have a balanced diet, lots of sleep and supplements tailored to you.

Loads of ultra runners are in the older age category, probably because they have the time, like you!!

Sounds fantastic.
