Has anyone applied for PIP and been accepted straight away WITHOUT having to have a phone call after you sent your form/evidence back? Was it enough on paper so they didn’t have to contact you?

just curious? Thanks x

An SR1 form is completed by a healthcare professional and sent into the DWP when a person claims PIP under end of life rules.

Thank you.

I got it immediately. Only the low rate though even though I have progressive MS and cannot really travel alone. I provided lots of evidence from medical professionals. Specialist nurse, neurologistm GP, physios etc

They have changed the rules over time. You can't assume that because you had a paper based assessment last renewal, the next one will be the same. Or that it is down to your exceptional skills at form filling and having excellent evidence.

My daughter was on DLA. She had gone to a dpecial needs school. She has a genetic deletion which is not going away. I sent in 23 separate pieces of evidence, including an autism diagnosis. I filled in the form very carefully and got it checked by a local carer's charity.

She got 4 points - this was largely due to the f2f assessment by a guy who didn't understand autism. His report (i got a copy) was shocking.

We got it sorted at mandatory reconsideration when she got 12 points.

The thing is, you ARE at the whim of the staff at the DWP in many respects. You can't assume that doing everything properly will get you what you deserve. You have to be prepared for set backs and ready to fight back.
