So I'm working class.
Cleaner renter (Not interested in discussing that but that's the context of my life)
So on the way to work daily chatting to chap (another cleaner) no sexual stuff. Just good morning etc. lovely chap.
Anyway one day as I'm walking towards him, he makes the sign of pointing a gun at me. I didn't feel threatened, it was like I should feel acknowledged.

Another time a man who shares garden next door we chatted, nowt sexual. Then one day in casual chat randomly says something along the lines of eh we'll we still here in years to come eh if we haven't shot each other, then he does the pretend shot gun thing. Again I didn't feel threatened but it's just bizarre.

What's that all about?
Have any other women experienced this?
Do any men know why???

Do they look at the internet? It sounds like the sort of shit misogynistic influencers would do.

How odd?! I don't really see what your perceived social class has to do with it?

I can only imagine either there's a lot of gun crime in your area and they're making a dark joke, or they're paranoid about war or something?

I've never seen anyone making gun gestures during polite convo with neighbours.

I think at work we used to sometimes jokingly do a 'gun to our own head' gesture when something was really boring or difficult.

Thanks for your input.
I'm glad not many women have had this.
I can't comment on their internet habits. As I say these are just men I don't really know or chat to.
As not many women experience this, Im encouraged. It must just be a blip.
Thank you to all respondents.
Perhaps these men watched too many westerns growing up .
So to them it's normal.
Like the hero (Spiderman) gets the good looking girl. Lol .
Thank you for your help x

Ps.
I'm working class in the north of England but thankfully no major gun crime. Mind you I do no usually have a TV licence but bought one this year for footy, coz big sister watches and I thought imight help her be less isolated if I could chat. I've tried encouraging her to learn a musical instrument to get her out, but to no avail anyway,
She watches Coronation St anvil caught a glimpse last night. I was shocked at the violence and ridiculousness of the story.
Bear in mind last time I watched it was when that chubby butcher man was in it. Can't remember his name

Sorry not sure how we got onto Coronation st

Daft innit. My sisters moral and ethical life choices all began with an advert for soap!
