Will vinyl roll flooring look odd throughout the whole house?

I have orded vinyl roll flooring for the whole of my house. Its cost just under £1000. So not much for the area its covering. I have laminated flooring but it didn't go down that well due to metal thing sticking out of the concrete floor. The joints are not good and its been ruined. I thought vinyl roll means no joints to worry about and its waterproof so no liquid damage. Im not sure if it will look odd all though the house.

Maybe it will be ok once its down furniture in place etc.

It can look fine depending on the design(s) that you go for.

Vinyl can be slippery when wet though, so you would need to take extra care in the bathroom or you might just suddenly end up on the floor.

If the underlying flooring is uneven, it will show through the vinyl and potentially cause it to wear quicker. You need nice smooth boarding under sheet vinyl. But I think its fabulous stuff. Properly waterproof, hard wearing, lots of designs.

If it’s laid properly and the sub floor is prepped well it will look absolutely fine. If you’re planning on laying it on top of the badly fitted laminates it will show through the vinyl and wear quicker over the uneven areas.
for areas like the lounge and other rooms with heavy furniture you will need to be careful. Heavy furniture will “sink in” to the vinyl and you run the risk of it tearing if you try to move the furniture. Also if you ever want to reconfigure rooms the vinyl may be marked in the areas the furniture used to be.

I was tempted by vinyl throughout in a previous house and the floor fitter told me all of the above. I opted for a laminate as it’s harder wearing and don’t really cost me all that much more.

I like sheet vinyl, especially the cushioned sort, it’s warm and comfortable underfoot, and in my experience it’s no more slippery than any other hard floor either wet or dry. Having said that, vinyl comes with slip resistance ratings, and I chose a high slip resistance one for our bathroom. You can get away with a less than perfect subfloor for laminate (you can bodge it level with underlay, I have!) and any competent diy person can lay it, but vinyl will look pants unless the subfloor is good. Don’t even think of laying it over the existing laminate with bad joints, it will look great when first laid but even good laminate joints will show through in no time. Laminate is more hard wearing, and more forgiving of furniture being pushed around, and of course doesn’t dent like sheet vinyl does under furniture feet. You’ve ordered it now, so make sure the subfloor is good, don’t shove furniture about over it and invest in furniture cups to minimise the denting under furniture feet.

Im taking the laminated flooring up.
My floor is smooth flat apart from a bit under my window that has a bit of metal sticking up. It supports the window . It shouldn't show like that it should be under the concrete. I will need to fix that area.
