If you're flying with EasyJet do you buy a cabin bag?

Going away at Easter. Just realised the flights are with Easyjet which means tiny cabin bags. I've booked 1 suitcase between 3 of us so will need to put some bits in the hand luggage allowance

DH already has a tiny cabin bag from a previous trip. I'll measure ds' school bag to see if that suits the requirements - are Amazon bags the norm for EasyJet?

Just check the size! Nearly everyone does the tiny ones. I’d get two and one person lugs the big one. Make sure it’s not overweight! Usually hold luggage has a weight allowance. Personality I would check in 2 manageable bags. Just easier without fighting for space in the plane.

SabrinaThwaite · 15/03/2026 11:28

No, as the EasyJet underseat bag is a generous size. I can pack for a few days away and I put a day sack in there too. If we go for longer we do a laundry part way through.

Mathsdebator · 15/03/2026 11:41

I definitely don't want to check in more than 1 case. It's just a last minute cheapy getaway and an extra case is almost an extra £100

Maybe I'm underestimating the bag size allowance! It just sounds teeny!

It’s 30 litres in volume, if you pack well you’ll be surprised how much you can fit in.

Cabin Max do ranges specifically designed to fit various airline dimensions. We have the Metz that fits the Easyjet sizing.

I have a Mia Tui bag that fits under the seat and took it to Bilbao for three nights. It was big enough.

MiddleAgedDread · 15/03/2026 12:13

Amazon do really cheap under seat cabin bags that maximise the luggage allowance and you can fit loads in.

Bjorkdidit · 15/03/2026 12:48

If its a short break or even a week for a beach holiday then you should be fine with your existing allowance.

I just use a rucksack as my carry on, other people use large handbags or holdall.

There are specially designed 'cabin bags' that fit the airlines sizes, Cabin Max is popular brand, but if ots just for your phone and other valuables, then any bag you already have is fine.

Check the sizes of ones you have - but yes I have bought bags off Amazon that are easyJet and Ryanair cabin size, just so we could have one each

Mathsdebator · 15/03/2026 13:08

I usually take bras and cossies in my hand bag (big boobs, if my case got lost I'd be stuck!) but we usually go Jet2 and have a bigger allowance.

I do pack lightly and never use it all but we usually have 2 or 3 small cases and just my handbag for bras and passports 🤣

I'll do a trial run and see what I can condense. Hate the thought of hand luggage but think we'll be doing more shirt trips as ds is older so might be worth buying some standard bags 🎒

We take a backpack each as carry on luggage. Holds a couple of days worth of clothes, nightwear, hair straighteners. Fits under the seat no bother.
So if each do that and put rest of clothes and toiletries in hold luggage you should be fine for a week.

GirlsAbroad · 22/03/2026 13:09

If it’s just a short break you can definitely do with just cabin bags - up to 7 days even if you pack well (and aren’t going somewhere too wintery!). I’ve used this one for past couple Ryanair flights and it’s even more strict that EasyJet so it’d be perfect if you’re looking for a nice cabin bag that fits the most without going over your limit!

It completely depends how long I’m going for and whether I’ve checked a bag. Often me and DH share a carry on between the two of us, but if we have a big case in the hold we might not. If it’s a very short trip then we might only take the under seat bag.

BillieWiper · 22/03/2026 13:13

It's just a normal budget airline. The cabin bag size has no more restrictive than Ryanair or others.

Just check the size and make sure yours is a bit smaller. I've never had any issues and needed to buy a special bag to use on easyJet. And I've done so many times.

Mathsdebator · 22/03/2026 13:23

I bought one in Amazon and am really surprised by how big it is!

Yes Cabin Max bags with packing cubes inside. You fit in enough for a week.

fussychica · 22/03/2026 13:37

Backpack of maximum under seat dimensions for trips upto a week. 2 week holidays probably one large cabin bag plus the underseat ones. Month trips one hold bag plus 2 underneath bags. That's for two people travelling together.

Just be very sure it will fit in the sizer. A Friend just got charged £60 at the airport!

Agree. I think you have bought a checked in bag.
Must not exceed a total size of 275 cm (length + width + height), including wheels and handles
And I think you may be doing CARRY ON baggage for 3 of you, which must be able to be stored under the seat, and is only 45x36x20. As opposed to CABIN bag 56x45x25 which are the larger cases you see a lot of people with and are stored in the overhead lockers. They can (and often do) test both at the gate using the two-sized sizers. It is not worth being over. They can be difficult about people swapping stuff around also. If you are likely to be "over" then go back onto the website and for ONE passenger only, add on a CABIN BAG (although to be fair, you can add another checked in bag for not much more, and for far more room, and given you may have a checked in bag anyway, this might suit). Hope this helps x
