Any nail experts...rubbish biab nails

Hi all,

So the short question; is there anything I can do to stick on my biab nail that has fallen off (a week after it was done). This is the 2nd to come off. The first came off after 5 days. Nail lady re-did it for me but it's a 50 minute round trip to her, plus the time getting it done and I can't keep going back and forth.

It's been so hard to find a nail salon where the nails actually stay on. Been going to this salon for a year. Initially a different lady did my nails however she left. The last four times the salon owner has done my nails however they've always been rubbish. The first set weren't too bad and stayed on well, the next set the nail art was really poor. Which seemed odd considering the photos on her Facebook page look really good.

My last set of nails the Chrome pealed off within two days, she re-did my nails but it peeled off again within a few days. I was annoyed because it was an evening appointment and it took a half-time it usually takes. So she obviously didn't missed a few stages. I thought I'd give her another chance but this time I lost a nail within the first 5 days and now another 2 days later. I'm fed up of spending £40 getting my nails done for them to be rubbish!

I’m not an expert but I have paper thin weak nails and I’m a picker if I get a lifted bit or a snag. I’ve been getting biab for two years and I that time I’ve never had a chip or a lifted nail. Biab for me is a miracle and I’ve now got the strong unbreakable nails I’ve always wanted. Something is definitely wrong, can you try a salon nearer?

I think the issue here is your nail technician. Unless your hands are in water all day for work etc I don’t see how a properly applied BIAB is falling off? BIAB is applied to your own nails directly and I have literally never had anything ping off or even chip in the years I’ve been having it. I’d be finding another place to have it done tbh.

Skill levels in Nail techs vary significantly. I go to an experienced professional and my Shellac never chipped before I had BIAB and now I do it still hasn’t. It’s perfect when I rebook due to regrowth. Her nail art is also stunning.
You need a better nail tech and ideally one more local. I don’t pay £40 either.
It’s time to cut your losses.

I have stuck mine back on with nail glue before.

But, this is an issue with your nail tech. Her technique is not good. Find someone better!

How much are you paying? I agree with the above poster that the ability of nail techs varies massively and that you generally get what you pay for. In my area, that’s £50 just for basic colour and out of her home and not in a salon. I have extremely thin nails but have never had BIAB lift when applied by somebody experienced, and I frequently really stretch out the gap between getting them done. Check reviews very carefully on an app like Fresha. If they have hundreds of positive reviews, you’re likely to get a quality service.

Did you have the old biab removed and new put on? If not you may need to do this. When it gets too thick I find that it chips or breaks too easily, so I tend to go back to the start every three times.
