Wedge pillow for acid reflux which doesn't cause back issues - does such a thing exist?

I have awful digestive issues and reflux is one of the many symptoms that I suffer from.

The problem is that I just can not get comfortable at night. If I lay on more than one pillow I suffer from neck issues (I have joint hypermobility syndrome) but one pillow and the acid pools in my throat (or at least feels that way) and wakes me throughout the night.

I have tried propping up the head of the bed but dh says it makes his feet feel numb. I don't have a spare room so we have to share a bed.

I purchased a wedge pillow in the hope it would help but it is the most uncomfortable thing ever invented, it's rock solid and triggers my sciatica and hip pain.

I just can not find a happy medium. There appears to be many wedge pillows available ranging from £30 (Like the one I purchased from Dunelm) up to really lovely looking ones for well over £100 but I am on a budget and loathe to buy something which may end up living under the bed like the Dunelm one has.

Has anyone else had this issue? Did you manage to find a solution?

Wedge pillow and normal pillows on top.

the wedge pillows are rock hard. They usually have two ways round - shallow slope and steeper slope.

i do shallow slope and put normal pillows on top.

I tried it all ways and with various pillows on top but it was so uncomfortable.

I put the wedge pillow under the mattress so it feels less rigid.

My gastroenterologist suggested raising the head of the bed itself, but I don't know how this works with your legs - surely they would need to be raised again?

I've got a wedge pillow and yes it's like a rock!

That’s a good idea, thanks.
