Vehicle Control Services. Parking ticket?

Young adult DC stupidly parked, late evening, in an empty business car park in the city centre. No pay and display or anything so foolishly thought it would be ok whilst they were out with friends. Very vague about how long they were there, not that it matters, but they returned to the vehicle to find this.

the T&Cs on the website doesn’t say much, just that ‘in the event that you receive a PCN …we may have obtained or been provided the following information’ it then lists registered keepers details etc. Their trust pilot reviews are appalling so I’m fearful we may never receive a ticket and know how/what to pay and end up with bailiffs, but I also don’t want to voluntarily contact them in case they haven’t been able to get DC’s details and won’t be able to issue a ticket unless we phone.

Has anyone had any dealings with these people?

Over two weeks later, still no ticket has appeared. I’m not sure if I should assume it was just a warning, as it was a late Saturday night so unlikely any actual parking enforcers about so, maybe if the landowner lives above a shop, they just put them on to prevent repeat parking, or if we are going to end up with bailiffs at the door in 8 months time for non payment of a ticket we’ve never received.

Has anyone been back in daylight and photographed any signs (or lack of signs) in the car park, including the entrance. Lack of decent signage is where you can dispute the ticket successfully but you need proof.

They can chase for non payment for up to six years so get all evidence now.

Edit. If they do finally get in touch (they will have to contact DVLA for your details if you don't supply them so it can take time), ask for date stamped photographic evidence of your car, showing number plate, in their carpark. But most will have this so, since DC admits he did it (and if signage is clear), just pay up.

You won’t get bailiffs turning up. For that to happen they’d have to take you to court, win, and then you still not to pay. So you’d definitely know about it if bailiffs were coming.

Until such time as you get something in the post I’d ignore it. I think the only advantage to contacting them is you might get a discounted fee for paying within 14 days. But you are over 14 days now anyway.

So just ignore, sit tight until such time as something does arrive in the post, and then look at the many excellent Facebook and websites to get advice on how to fight it.

Thank you both.

They did go back and took a picture of the signs. High up, unlit, so they hadn’t seen them as it was dark. The are AuDHD so things do need to be very obvious for them to see though.

I would happily have paid instantly if it turned up, and still will, but I absolutely wasn’t going to contact them and volunteer the info that DC had parked there.

Thanks both for the info, very helpful. I will stop worrying then and see if something turns up if the DVLA usual take a while to supply details.
