Hi all,
I am 56, post menopausal and keen to lose about 8lbs so am attempting 16;8.i was snacking in the evening and I think im
better with a black and white approach.
Ive decided to do it 5 days a week. I’m on my fourth since I started and it seems ok.
is 5 days a week ok? Do I need to go into serious calorie deficit when eating? Any advice generally? Like when I might see the scales shift?
I eat clean, mostly, a lot of protein and I exercise 3-4 times a week plus walking the dog

My advice would be to read The Fast 800 by Michael Moseley. Easy to read, clear advice, easy to individualise, sensible and not faddish. Plus some simple and delicious recipes.

I do it, but not religiously. I just try to consume my calories within an eight hour window and then nothing in the following 16 hours. I don’t actively restrict what I eat within my window, but find that even knowing I can’t snack beyond that helps with weight loss. I don’t stick to a rigid timetable, but let’s say I had my last meal at 9pm one day, I wouldn’t eat again until 16 hours later, so 1pm the next.

I’m probably doing it wrong but as I say, it helps me!

I tried 16:8. My body actually put on weight around my tummy as it thought I was in starvation mode. I couldn't get rid of the wodge of extra wiggle until I reduced the fasting time to 12:12. I make sure I have protein at breakfast and stop eating after dinner. This way I have much more energy throughout the day.
