This is lighthearted, hence not an AIBU as I am fully aware nobody is doing anything wrong and we all have a different pace in life. But this is a moany thread for those who do the same journey day in day out and to vent all those little things that in your rush hour stressed morning / afternoon really piss in your cornflakes.

I have a list 😂

I do the same journey twice a day - it’s autopilot at this point, everything is calculated on my route, even to the ticket barrier I use and the exact spot I stand in on the tube platform.

So here it goes:

  • the obvious not keeping left
  • getting off the escalator and immediately stopping just by the steps to tie your shoe laces / adjust your bag
  • people walking in pairs or groups through stations joined at the hip - just let other people pass
  • People with massive luggage on the escalators
  • people stopping in the middle of a busy walkway as you’re walking at full pace behind them
I’m sure I have many more I’ll remember as we go along. Share yours!

Ohhhh no sorry I cannot break up my morning routine of buying coffee before I jump on the train sorry!

That's OK. Just know that I think you stink and I'm judging you very, very hard for your lack of self-control 😝

  • after taking the same train for 10+ years, I know where the doors align with the platform. Many people don't and then start doing this thing where they walk along with the train trying to curling-bump me out of the way.
  • man-spreaders or these (mostly) elderly man who think they can hang their coat on the hook on your side so that you're covered with their jacket+smell
  • people who rush to get on the train and then indeed take ages to take their seat so that everyone behind them has no shot as commuters from other directions have moved in.
  • People who you've blocked in in a two-seater and only realise they need to get out when the doors are already opening, so that suddenly you have to rush up to allow them to get out in time.
  • Teenagers who rush in in herds to find a seat, then decide that they don't want this seat after all and push their way back to their friends bumping into everyone with their back packs.
  • People who are watching shows on their phone without headphones
  • People who discuss mundane tasks with their family at home loudly (I don't need to know what you're having for dinner)
