Books for a 20 month old toddler

There's a look of distinct boredom on my gd's face whenever she has to find Spot now! She's got all those books and knows We're Going on a Bear Hunt inside out. Can anyone tell me what their toddler enjoys reading? I think we all need a change! She's got plenty of books for older children but I'm struggling to find anything she can enjoy. Any recommendations? She's 2 in June.

My little boy started to love books with moving parts at that sort of age. If you search for push, pull and slide books there are lots of different ones. Also noisy books, osbourne sound books are great because they have a bit of a story too and he loved the “don’t tickle the…” series of books which have fluffy patches on the pages to press to make different sounds. If she’s starting to have the attention span for a longer story my little boy loved Elmer then and still does now at 3.

Definitely Julia Donaldson. My 2.5 year old loves them, and there's so many more than you first think!

Definitely Acorn wood books - rabbits nap and cats cookbook are on our daily rotation.

All the Julia Donaldson books, my daughter has loved them from 18 months, knows many of them off my heart now at 2.5. They also have them animated on bbc so great if you need any screen time as they are familiar with the story already and it’s nice and slow

And the topsy and tim series! Very 90s but they’ve taught her so much about lots of life situations (doctors, dentist, school, farm, aeroplane etc)

Mine at that age loved chocolate mousse for greedy goose

My daughter is 2 (27 months) and she has loved the Julia Donaldson books since she was 6+ months. The pictures are beautiful and really engaging, even for babies and young toddlers. The Snail and the Whale is my daughter’s absolute favourite - highly recommend! But she loves them all, and there are loads to choose from.

They're also nice for adults to read. I used to get so bored reading her the same baby books over and over again!

Mine started getting into the Julia Donaldson books at this age, even though I thought they would be too old! Stickman was (and still is) a firm favourite.
Mog & The Tiger Who Came to Tea
Any of the “Tales of Acorn Wood” Series (also Julia Donaldson)
Absolutely loves “The Busy Little Train” which is out of print but I found on a second hand book website after another mum recommended it.

Thank you all so much. I've bought a couple of these now and have made lots of notes. I remember a lot of them from when my children were young. Owl Babies and Dogger in particular made me cry! I think she's still a bit young for some of them - it's a bit of an odd age, really!

@TFImBackInRead them anyway, even if you think they’re a bit old. Look through them together, ask her to point out things in the pictures. It’s amazing how quick they pick things up, especially in books with repetition or verse. DS was about 16 months the first time he chipped in with ‘peepo’ at the right place in the book. He’ll also shout out which animal it is on each page in Monkey Puzzle (Julia Donaldson).

We’ve read to him daily since he was a newborn and books are his favourite thing now (ok maybe joint with trains and tractors).

I’ve remembered another of our favourites, There’s A Bear On My Chair by Ross Collins. Short and simple to follow and funny. There’s a few by the same author.

I don't know - I'm often a bit suspicious of self-published children's books, as they tend to be terrible.

Percy the park keeper books by Nick Butterworth are great for young children. There was also a series.
There are younger versions of the Beatrix potter books too.
