Hi @TheladyinthecardiganI watched this earlier. I was looking to see if anyone else had posted about it yet. I didn’t think it was crass at all, I personally think it was well done, and clearly his full choice to do so. I did have to stop at the bit where he was about to address his daughters at the end tho. Just for a bit. I was watching next to oh, but on my tablet and it was just an instinctional “fuck, I can’t watch that now!”, as I had just been telling him about what is was etc, and I just knew it would likely be quite moving and I’d end up a bit watery-eyed. I did then finish watching it a little bit after.
I don’t know if this programme/interview had been publicised beforehand, I certainly didn’t see it on Netflix, like they usually show what’s “coming soon”, until it was put on a couple of days ago. The thought of speaking to your children (and others) after you die is a strange one, isn’t it? I don’t know how long ago the interview was done, but it did seem as though his ALS was quite a fast progressing type. I was a little shocked by his death, I hadn’t realised he was ill, so I didn’t know until it happened. I think, like many of us, probably, I knew him first and best for GA, but had seen him in other things afterwards too, like Euphoria. I had no idea he was in Saved By The Bell! Or a couple of the other older things. He was almost exactly the same age as me, by a couple weeks or so, so must’ve been quite young when he was in some of those.
He handled the interview so well, and I think the way it was filmed was quite sensitive too; no cameraman etc in the same room. I expected it to be moving and I think it was.
What was your take on it?
