I want a boob job...

but dont have enough of a holiday allowance to use for convalescence. Would I need to tell my employer I was having elective surgery or would my doctor be able/willing to be discreet on my sicknote?

Please dont flame - I am and have always been a model employee. Self esteem is at an all time low and I'd like to do something for me xx

And how is a "boob job" going to fix your low self esteem?
Self esteem comes from inside yourself.

I assess patients that opt for elective cosmetic surgery

Low self esteem and a breast augmentation don’t go hand in hand.

do CBT and inner work first

Is your work likely to notice the change when you return from your sick leave? 🤭

I agree with PP’s and you should think very carefully about this. This is a serious surgery with the potential for side effects and complications. It won’t necessarily improve your self esteem or self image if you have underlying concerns. You’ll have to be assessed for suitability and this could prevent you from being suitable.
But to answer your question, no you don’t have to have the type of surgery on your fit note. I’ve had a few different operations (only one cosmetic, the rest necessary medically) and it’s always said post surgical recovery.
It’s generally 2 weeks for this and 6 weeks before you can go to the gym or do any major exercise.

She didn’t say it was augmentation.

In would love to have my breasts reduced in size purely because clothes hang much better on women with smaller breasts - at least the androgynous type clothes I like to wear.

I have had one however I wasn't working at the time, I was a SAHM to a 3 and 5 year old. If you're expecting your employer to pay sick pay then you're taking the piss, I say that as a business owner.

Only you know what your relationship is like with your employer, and whether or not you could go to them and potentially ask for unpaid leave. is that an option?

What I will say is that my recovery was brutal and I think I would have been off work from my office job which I currently do for 3 weeks, I was in a lot of pain, but I had the implants under the muscle which is more invasive as I am very slim and wanted a natural silhouette. My friend was back at work a week later and absolutely fine so everyone is different. I went from a B to a D, and like I said a natural tear drop shape implant rather than in your face standy up ones, and it isn't noticeable at all, nobody I know has spotted Ive had it done although I'm very open about it.

ignore the negative comments, you don't have to justify why you want it doing to people you don't know. i didn't have low self esteem, i just had empty saggy boobs after breastfeeding for 3 years in total and i wanted to feel better about them. My choice.
