Nice things strangers have said.

There’s a brilliant thread on here about awful things strangers have said to you. Some of the things 😱.

They are awful but hilarious in many cases.

So, are there brilliant things strangers have said that you remember?

Mine is the first day my 2.5 year old son chose and put all his clothes on by himself and was delighted.

We both set out for the village shop. On the way there we passed an older man and my son said “Mr, I got myself ready today”.

He replied “ You are kidding wee man, that’s brilliant” and gave him 50p to “ celebrate” and shook his wee hand.

I will never forget the kindness of that man to my son.

I was once told by a very nice lady in a cafe that she was aware that teenage mothers have a bad reputation, but I was doing an excellent job. She was so kind that I didn't have the heart to tell her that a: I wasn't a teenager (although I do appreciate being mistaken for one!) and b: She wasn't my baby. She was my niece and my sil and mother of said baby was sitting opposite me trying to keep a straight face!

Another I remember when I’d first started my job after a year in the dole. It was enrolment chaos. And a man said to me that i was doing well as he saw how i jumped in here and there helping people. That was a nice boost.

"You remind me of Sarah Beeny..... oh don't worry, I think she's really good looking"

Ummm, clumsy but I get that he meant well.

Years ago when I was about 8 months pregnant with my Son a stranger tapped me on the shoulder & said how gorgeous & shiny my hair was. Then proceeded to stop another 2 randoms walking past to ask them to tell me how lovely I looked & wasn't I blooming. She said I really suited being pregnant & my bump was perfect. She made my day as I was feeling fat & bloated that morning & didn't have a scrap of make up on either.

It was my DDs (early 20s) birthday a few months ago and we were having a lovely girly day, shopping then early dinner with cocktails so I was a bit more dressed up than for a usual shopping trip.
A lady (mid 30s ) came up to me and said 'i just want to say, you look fabulous very cool' . It made my day as she was very stylish herself.

Whenever I read things like this it reminds me how we can affect someone's day in such a positive way with very little effort really. Let's do it more often!

I had a young lad about 14 years old smile at me the other day in a shop & said' I love your style' it made my day as I only had on jeans & converse & jacket. At 54 years old I'll take any compliments I get.
