Random things you do in your household

Sitting up holding congested baby so they can sleep upright and got me thinking about strange things we do in our house.

For example we have a habbit of putting a B infront of whatever we say. Not always just sometimes. Eg "I've put the thermostat upstairs for bedtime " he might reply "the bermostat".

And that's the end of the conversation.

Or if he asks what veg I want with dinner I might reply "broccoli and barrots".

Neither of us think this hilarious or anything so I dont know why we do it and we don't know how it started.

Anyone else have any odd things in their household?! Or unusual names you call things?

Editing to add we both have quite serious management jobs in different sectors. So we are pretty sensible at work.

😅😂

love the 'bermostat'

We change the names of our pets into totally different names - just for fun.

Were you ever fans of Facejacker on channel 4? The Brian Badonde used to put B at the front of random words and it was surprisingly catchy!

(just a thought on where you guys might have picked this up from 😊)

Rowan Atkinson was interviewed recently and asked how the name Mr Bean came about. He said they contemplated Mr White, then vegetables like Mr Cauliflower. He said as soon as they said Bean, he knew that was it, because B is the funniest letter of the alphabet and you can really emphasise it.

Wr put an 'o' on the end of a lot of words here. It started with the cat. As in, DD would say, "(the cat says) Mumo, I want food in bowlo" Doesn't sound in the slightest bit funny, and actually sounds a bit twee, but we both speak with his 'voice' and it's just stuck since we got him six years ago.

When I was 10, I had a Yorkshire Terrier who was a nervous little thing and did that small dog shaking / quivering thing. He used to say (in his voice, naturally) that he was Shakin Stevens.

I'm sure I'm not the only one with pets that 'talk'

We have a number of stupid names for things, but they would be too outing if I put them on here 😳. My grandchildren already think we are mad for calling pyjamas 'jammies' and tomato sauce 'mato'. (Not so outing as I know a few other people who do that).
