Hi, I’m going to Belfast on Sunday with my ten year old daughter and am hoping people will have some suggestions for lovely things to do. We will land at 9am Sunday and leave at 9pm Monday night. Staying in the City Centre.

I am thinking of the Titanic experience on Monday after lunch (quieter than Sunday?) but haven’t got much further than that. She will be happy with a gallery or two, a mooch round some shops, hot chocolate and cake is a must. Some kind of activity on Sunday? We are happy to walk or take public transport. Thank you!

The W5 science museum is great. My kids loved it there, you could easily spend 4 hours there.

The botanic gardens and the Ulster Museum are great for a visit and they are free

Thank you, you’ve just reminded me that I wanted to go to the Botanic Gardens! The Ulster Museum looks good too.

The W5 Science Museum and the Titanic experience are beside each other.
Most 10 year olds would love both.

That should sort Monday afternoon quite easily then. Thank you! We can have some dinner after and head off to the airport.

I mistakenly booked our flight into Belfast Intl as it was cheaper. Any suggestions for the best way to get into the city? Bus, train or taxi? We’re not in a rush and will only have a rucksack each. Thanks

hi. just back from belfast myself definitely the titanic museum. it's a lovely walk from the city centre to get there - all along the waterfront. quick heads up, it was absolutely freezing when i was there last friday, so do take hats and scarfs just in case! the bus ride (no 300 as in the above post) takes about 40 mins from the airport to the city, so if you're just off an early flight you may want to grab a snack / drink from the airport to keep you going! such a friendly city too. have a wonderful time with your daughter.

Thank you for such a lovely message and tips. It will be a painfully early start so great suggestion for the bus snacks and caffeine for me! Am crossing my fingers for some dry weather but will definitely take layers, hats, gloves etc. Glad you had a good time.

It's dry and bright today but very cold still.

We did the Titanic first thing on a week day (we were actually the first people in). It was quiet, but was getting very busy by the time we left.

My DC were a bit older, but did enjoy the mural tour - if your dd is interested in History she might like this. Mine had read the Kevin & Sadie books at about your dd's age, which gives some context.

The botanical gardens are pleasant and very peaceful.
