I’m leaving my job at the end of the month, and with the DC in school I’ll have 9.30-2.30 free every day!
Ive already signed up to a course - 6 hrs a week, and volunteer - 4 hours a week.
I want to improve my general health (am facing burn out, am about half a stone overweight, and my eating habits are shocking-very all or nothing)
My home needs a refresh and a good clear out.
I am nervous about leaving the house to do much on my own as I’ve WFH a long time and rarely leave unless with the kids.
I’ve got £300 per month to spend.
id like to make a little allotment in my tiny garden.
Id like to find a new job to start in a years time, or at least get some experience or qualifications to return to work in a year.
im excited but finding it all a bit overwhelming already-where to begin?

That sounds like a great opportunity! I think I'd start with the big house sort out just while you get used to not working. Then decorate.

I'd also work on getting out on your own if that makes you nervous. Garden centre trip, some shopping, coffee shop, etc.

Enjoy!

I’d do what I’m doing now which is volunteering 3 times a week and a course.

Agreed with getting out to coffee shops either with friends/neighbours etc. or by yourself.

Can you explain a bit more about this - I have WFH for a long time too, but have no problem leaving the house without being nervous. If this is an issue for you, I would spend some of the week having counselling/therapy as this is no way for you to live.

If I was having a year off, I would do a qualification related to whatever industry you are in; aside from that I would go to gym classes and catch up on my massive 'to read' pile; and declutter the house once and for all :)

I'm glad you have this chance of time for you. Unfortunately I am an alcoholic and would drink myself to death if this were me....
