If your family was the royal family...

Just wondering, if your immediate family was the royal family, how would it fare....?

I have an older brother who would have inherited the crown. I think he'd be making a good job - intelligent, emotionally stable, kind, strong marriage to someone I think would aquit themselves well. Their eldest son also seems a safe pair of hands, though only a teen still - intelligent, sociable, 'well rounded'.

If I'd been oldest I think it wouldn't be going so well. I'm quite intelligent, kind, well meaning, good people skills, but was painfully shy when younger so not sure how well I'd have managed with the scrutiny. Had the misfortune of marrying someone who's turned into a completely unsociable grump (probably undiagnosed autism), who would loathe the role (but enjoy the money). Oldest dc (still a teen) has autism, and I think would find a senior royal role very difficult and stressful. Younger dc probably more suited temperament wise.

Another issue would have been inheriting it - both parents had long incapacitating illnesses and would have had to abdicate long before dying, with a complicated period where probably they would have done some strange things before bring wheeled off.

No terrible black sheep a la AMW, though maybe we would have if corrupted by enough money/ opportunity?

Just makes me wonder re the vagaries of luck with an inherited system!

I’d want to be Zara: all the advantages, none of the responsibility.

id be a networker, and yes i can or could be bribed,

Carefull @Eddiestrangerthings wouldn't want your being bribed to see you up on a treason charge, don't worry though its life imprisonment in a cosy sandringham cottage with all cleaning, laundry, cooked meals and sky tv laid on these days - not a trip to the tower :-)

My eldest sibling would lead a life of unmitigated chaos if they inherited the crown. The Daily Mail would be camping outside the palaces for the next story.

They might pass the crown to the next in line, my other sibling, who would be the decent, respectable type with a family but perhaps quite boring.

If it ever got to me, I would struggle a bit. Quite introverted and very awkward in public settings. I'd throw Dinners but not attend them, trip over carpets when greeting foreign dignitaries, hide out in the library when supposed to be opening a building, that kind of thing. The nation might have an affection for me as a bumbling figure but also be a bit embarrassed.

I 'd be HMQ. No hats though. I hate them, and there would be cats instead of corgis.
