Insurance for residents living in nursing care home

My grandad has been moved into a nursing home and we need to arrange personal contents insurance. We've only found Adrian Flux as a broker but no-one else, but the cost is quite high. His house is insured with Saga but they don't cover this. And his house will be on the market soon.

Has anyone navigated this and can you advise?

Thanks!

What exactly do you need it for. I didn't even know this was a thing both DD and DM were in a home.

Is he taking anything terribly expensive with him? If not I wouldn't bother if it's jsut the usual clothes etc.

Why would he require contents insurance? No item of value should be taken to a care home. Items go missing all of the time.

What things is he taking in to a care home that are worth insuring?
I thought advice was totally don't take anything valuable as things do tend to go walkabouts.
The excess would me more than most things are worth.

His hearing aids are £3000 🫠 when he was in hospital a couple of years ago, they lost one and it was £1000 to replace

Would this work?

Honestly its worth buying a few cheap back up pairs. They get taken to the laundry, thrown away with tissues, get mislaid.
I know it's desperately sad but that's the reality.
