Can anyone help me identify this rash?

Rash on DD(12)’s chest. Anyone know what might help? She said it’s “stingy”.

I will take her to the pharmacy in the morning. Does anyone know what it could be? They are like little spots.

Sorry, the pictures aren’t very clear. The spots/bumps are red in colour, and the rash is widespread across her chest.

Might be an allergic reaction to something. Has she used any different toiletries or have you changed washing powder or anything? If you have any piriton or antihistamine cream it might be worth trying that to see if it helps.

If they turn red and become blotchy... it might be scabies. Doesn't look like it at the moment but keep an eye out. DS had it, not pleasant.

Anything on her hands? Especially in the webspace between her fingers?

could be scabies

I’d give her some antihistamines and moisturise her skin well (unscented) and call 111 for advice

Nothing on the hands. It has now spread and covers the torso.

Could be scarlet fever? Not the most likely option but that presents with a rough bumpy torso rash. Or it could be just a general viral rash.

Boots online have an AI smart skin scanner. You can upload the photos and it gives you suggestions in seconds. Helpful to give you an idea and then I would also consult a pharmacist. I’ve tried it once and it was correct, might be worth a try

Like PPs, my first thought was scabies. (I've had them, and I know the horror.) Do the bumps have tiny black dots in their centres? If so, you'll need to buy and get the lotion on quickly. Scabies spread tremendously fast and are infectious. You'll also need to hot-wash bedding and clothes.

Hollyhobbi · 07/02/2026 07:24

Could be shingles?

EleanorReally · 07/02/2026 07:26

scabies are normally in the centre of the stomach, tummy button area

EleanorReally · 07/02/2026 07:27

try an antihistamine

What did the pharmacist say @Slivver ?
