From The Times. He’s just a guy who’s had some bad luck after all!

Is it this article?

Peter Mandelson: Epstein is like dog muck; the smell won’t go away

https://www.thetimes.com/article/22e676b1-3121-4bb9-99cd-e8facf76f5b7?shareToken=f2319efd8c2b1e3a70ab9dc3b392f7bf

If so the author had been trying to interview him for months and ended up meeting him before the main recent allegations came out and then again after but still before the biggest leaking from Cabinet ones.

What a very poorly written article. How did that ever get past the editor?

Yes, Mandelson is abhorrent and always was. I always thought that if a new ambassador to the USA was needed then don't pick someone as abhorrent as Trump.

Obviously that's a pre publication photo.

The times mag has an advertising copy deadline of 5 days so it’s absolute rubbish to say it was printed 6-8 weeks in advance.

and even if this were true, then yes - the publication should take the hit rather than feature a treasonous paedo sympathetically.

I'm glad they printed it. Letting people like that talk can be very helpful. He is SO odious in the article and the reporter doesn't need to add in any criticism. His own words are enough. Also, his musings on America/Reform/the need for Blairite policies are telling...

You know, you may not like all of Trump’s decisions, but at least he is decisive.”
The newly independent Mandelson has plenty of praise for the US president, even if Trump claimed not to know who he was during the state visit press conference. Was he offended? “He’s so clever,” Mandelson replies breezily.
Some independence might suit him. He says British politics is “ripe for disruption” — and Reform. “Farage is not an attractive proposition for a centrist politician like me, but both Labour and the Tories assume that they are the only parties licensed to supply Britain with prime ministers, as if we have some God-given right, and that Reform is simply a usurper waiting to fall by the wayside when the time comes.”

he was totally contemplating a Cummings style move to Reform. Hopefully he's so toxic now even Farage won't have him.

@persephonia

Farage did announce a big Labour person to defect to HIS party, Reform UK, only two weeks ago. Farage is mentioned 41 times in the Epstein files do far downloaded.

My God. How in thrall he is to power. Doesn’t matter what the decisions are, “at least he is decisive”. This is a man with no moral compass - as we now know. So far gone he doesn’t even realise he’s digging his own Epstein-shaped grave with comments like that.

And money. He correctly identified that sycophants to Trump make money.
It's also in his interests to lobby for continuing close ties between the UK and US in defence and technology because he can make money from doing so. E.g. "Global Counsel, a lobbying company Mandelson co-founded and part-owns, also works for Palantir"

His little about is still in the through and he wants to make sure it stays there.

Mandelson’s links with US tech firm Palantir must be fully exposed, campaigners warn

Government faces call for transparency on former peer’s involvement amid fears he may have leaked more sensitive information

Revolting treasonous cunt

Aww come on. Say what you really think.

🤣

SpringTimeIsRingTime · 07/02/2026 01:43

The only shock regarding Mandelson was the young women in a dressing-gown in his room while he paraded around in his awful underpants, euwww.

That dog is the most embarrassed dog I’ve seen in a while Grin… it’s trying to get out of shot… “I told you he was a wrong ‘un”

It's the absolute personification (dogification) of a hangdog expression.

I dont think the dog is that bad

🙂 you make a good point ✨️

guinnessguzzler · 07/02/2026 07:19

I think that's a brilliant article. It puts me in mind of the Prince (at the time) Andrew interview, where he thought he was being so clever and reasonable and actually it made him look even worse. This supposedly genius political mind easily taken in by Epstein? We're supposed to believe that? And his husband getting a bursary for osteopath training? Where was the application form? What was the process? How did he qualify? Come on!

I think the Times were right to publish, it shows the progression of his public statements and squirming in real time, based on how badly busted he is.

6 to 8 weeks did sound long.

Having read the article I'm struggling to find the sympathy in it. It's more 'let him hang himself by his own words'

he sounds pathetic in it.

That bit sprang out to me, too! Decisive? Donald "TACO" Trump whom the markets now just sit out for a fortnight, because his backtracks are so predictable?

It would be funny if the context weren't so serious.

I absolutely agree that Mandelson is sucking up to power and money. He's identified new sources of both and is hitching his wagon to the rising stars.

PerkingFaintly · 07/02/2026 10:14

I know!

"Poor little me, I'm too dim and naive to have noticed any issue." From a career political adviser and diplomat to the court of King Donald?! Yeah, no.

That's so odd there were about ten copies of this supplement in the magazine rack at my local Tesco yesterday.

He does! And headlines on the front page of The Times today are all about Mandy having his house raided by police!

No. We won't.

The fucking bravado of these tossers.

Please do not compare dog muck to Peter Mandleson. Dog muck as with all excrement has a valid and useful purpose.

I saw that magazine cover on social media yesterday and assumed it was a jokey mock up. But no, it’s for real and sitting in my kitchen.
