Burnout recovery

I have just ended a job where I was burnout. Concerns were raised last year at the hours I was working with a meeting with HR. They said I had to delegate more, but with no one to delegate to nothing changed. My boss then stepped on and has transferred me to another position - same pay, same role, just less stress due to other factors and closer to home. She has also given me four weeks off.
For the last two days I have had a migraine that isn't shifting..I am aware this is my body recovery from the most stressful six months of total burnout.
Anyone else had this? How did you recover? What can I do to make sure this doesn't happen again? I have these few weeks to put things in place.

Sleep, exercise and healthy diet when you can

the look at how you got into that position - you call have a supportive boss -

overtime is a big red flag - do what you can in your hours and let people know as soon as you can

say Monday meaning you look at your stack email your boss- “I have x,y and z to do. Since x is most important I will get that done but that means z won’t happen and y is at risk”

the word “no”

I know people then say oh x and y are top priorities but you have to push back

I’m sorry you’re experiencing burnout it really is horrible. I would say I’m still recovering 5 months on.

Things that helped me especially in the early days were sleep, fresh air, no obligations or social plans and reading. Books are like an escape for me.

I had some lovely support on my thread here

I hope you feel better and take the time you need.

Eat well, gentle exercise, walks outside, limited social plans, whatever works to switch your brain off ie binge boxsets, reading.

Hope you’re doing okay.
