Our Council is changing the way they do the bins. From April, we will have an every 2 weeks collection for our Green bin and weekly collection of the recycling.
The problem here is the number of bins.
We will have:
One bag for paper/cardboard.
One bag for plastic
One box fir glass
A small bin for food waste.
Thats 5 different type of ‘bins’
On the top of it, we’ve always composted (yes garden waste but also all our kitchen peeling, eggshell, tea etc….)
So if you have such a complicated system re bins, how have you organised your kitchen?
Atm we have a bigger bin for general waste, one compost and one small bin for general recycling (mix of plastic, paper, cardboard - small stuff. The bigger stuff goes directly in the garage). All integrated in a drawer. But that’s not going to work anymore with the new changes from the Council.
