I’ve never had one before. I have a terrible cancer wound which is leaking everywhere. So much washing every day. I live in a flat. I haven’t got the space for getting anything plumbed in. Everyone I’ve spoke to doesn’t rate their drier. If you love yours please tell me what it is.

I'm so sorry. I have an LG which is great.

So sorry to hear of your cancer @EachandEveryone - I would say a condenser dryer would be best for you, because They dry quicker than heatpump dryers. Forget vented dryers as they need outside exit pipe. I’ve heard good things about Beko condenser dryers - they are the budget end of the market so quite cheap. In your shoes I would probably get one of those after reading a few reviews and if you hate it, buy a different one later. At least then you’d have one asap. Best of luck with it and best wishes for your health xo

I have a beko condenser - budget end of the market as pp mentioned. Bought is six years ago and never had any issues.

Blueskiesnotgrey · 02/02/2026 12:52

Sorry to hear this, I hope you have some help. I bought the Which best buy Beko one recently and it is very good.

BEKO - Pro BM3T3944W Heat Pump 9 kg Tumble Dryer https://www.currys.co.uk/products/beko-pro-bm3t3944w-heat-pump-9-kg-tumble-dryer-white-10264597.html

Its easily as good as more expensive brands I've had in the past (Siemens, Miele). That's one of the top range ones as I have a large family bit I'm very impressed with the Beko brand so far and id have thought one of the snaller ones would also be good if you dont need a large 9kg one. This one is very good though and fits into a standard space.

Do you have access to Which Reviews?

I hope you feel better soon.

LizzieSiddal · 02/02/2026 12:54

Flowers.

You definitely need a condenser so there’s no need for plumbing. I’ve always had Bosch, only had two in 25 years so they’ve lasted very well.

RedRiverShore6 · 02/02/2026 12:56

I have a Beko heat pump one and am pleased with it.

ForFunGoose · 02/02/2026 12:57

Avoid a heat pump, they take ages and because you are in a flat the prolonged noise would be annoying.
Get a condenser with the best energy rating you can afford.

JohnnyAndTheTaxDemand · 02/02/2026 13:00

We have a Bosch serie 4 heatpump one. It gets very heavy use in our house as we have two kids in cloth nappies and live in one of the rainiest parts of the country! It's very reliable, gentle with clothes and comparatively cheap to run, but it is a bit slow. For cloth nappies we use the longest cycle which is about 3.5 hours. For ordinary clothes you could probably get away with shorter.

Hope that helps, sorry to hear about your health Flowers

Sorry that you are in this situation OP. We have an AEG heatpump. It’s our very first dryer and we love it. It doesn’t take that long tbh and it’s very economical to run. Quite a large capacity too.

Elphamouche · 02/02/2026 13:54

Beko Condenser drier. On its 6th year and used daily.

CountingDownToAutumn · 02/02/2026 15:17

Repeating previous posters but very sorry to hear of your diagnosis op.

I opened the thread to recommend the beko heatpump drier but I can see a few posters have beat me to it. I have the same one Blueskies linked to above and it’s great. Far superior to my last Samsung drier and much faster too.

I’d stay away from Candy. Me and my sister both had one and it was neither beautiful or useful! Regularly took 9 hours to do a load of washing. I think it put my sister of tumble driers for life as she will now only use a heated rail.

EverythingIsComputer · 02/02/2026 15:22

Just want to recommend that you get one with reverse tumble action, my condenser Bosch is ok but large sheets get so bound together as it only goes in one direction.

Sending you my best OP.

Like a PP, we have a condensing Beko which is about five years old and still great. Dries fast, easy to clean the filter.

familyissues12345 · 02/02/2026 15:36

We have a Bosch tumble dryer, works fantastically. Can really rate AO for purchasing, very quick delivery.

So sorry things are a bit rubbish at the moment x

Mydonkeyisred · 02/02/2026 15:39

I love my little tumble dryer it many years old. It's 4kg hot point front vented one.

Giddykiddy · 02/02/2026 17:53

Another vote for condenser by Beko - got back from holidays yesterday - i've dried 5 loads of laundry today - it's so fast and easy on my clothes

RS1987 · 02/02/2026 17:54

Avoid Candy in my experience!

Frequency · 02/02/2026 17:56

We have a heat pump one. In terms of cost, it is much better than our previous condenser one, but it does take a lot longer to dry things (it's still cheaper overall).

EachandEveryone · 02/02/2026 18:48

I ordered the Beko. It arrives tomorrow I’m really excited.

I hope that it’s exactly what you need, that your wound heals and that things get easier for you soon. Flowers

Blueskiesnotgrey · 02/02/2026 22:23

Hope it really helps OP. When you get it, look at the settings and I always turn the default heat level up by one. I also dont use the eco setting as I am always busy and rushing about so want to be able to take washing straight out of drier and straight into.cupboards and drawer, so I use the cotton one. It still doesn't take too long and way quicker than my previous heat pump drier. I really hope it makes things easier. Let me know if you have any questions as I've had mine for about a year and use it wothout thinking now but I remember the first few days i was a bit overwhelmed with all the settings.
