Was on youtube watching a video about five weeks ago and I was logged out of my account and told to log back in to gain access to my account, Tried to log in, Put one time password in and was told my account had been suspended and I had to appeal if I wanted it back. Did the appeal and two days later got an email saying my account had been banned due to them suspecting it had been made by a robot to send gmail emails to people.

I have had my account for 11 years and I have never had a gmail account or used gmail. I set the account up using my own email and have always used that, even if I clicked on gmail from my account it took me to a page asking me to sign up for gmail so not sure why they think this or why my account was banned (after looking online it seems it's not just me and this is happening to a lot of people) I only ever used my account to watch youtube videos and to store my meida.

the issue is I pay for youtube premium and also google one where I stored all my pictures etc it's almost £21 per month and I have zero way to cancel it, my account has now been banned, there is no way to contact google so I called my bank and was told they MIGHT be able to cancel it but as yet are unsure as even if they did cancel it google could still take it, been told to wait a month to see if they money goes out.

just wondering if this sounds right? could google still take the money and if so would it be a case of me having to get a new bank account and closing that one?

If it is a direct debit they won't be able to take money for a service that they can no longer offer you. If they do you can dispute the charge using the direct debit guarantee.
