Period pants for DD how many do we need?

DD is on the cusp of starting her periods so I want to get some pants. How do the logistics work and how many pairs? I use a mooncup so want to learn from everyone else’s routine!

I think she should be able to have 1 pair all day? Then overnight in a wet bucket / bin then a quick rinse and in with normal wash? We don’t wash every day so maybe 4-5 pairs just in case??

I’ve got 8 pairs of the M&S ones and that works well for me as no pressure to get them dry to reuse quickly.

I wear 1 pair all day but my periods not that heavy. I have 4 pairs and must say if I don't keep up with the washing (general washing) I always end up thinking that I must buy another couple of pairs, purely because I find they take ages to dry.

I have about 8-10, which works well in that I never run out. I usually wear two pairs a day and one overnight for the first couple of days, and then down to one pair a day and one overnight when my flow reduces. I do a wash of our clothes every couple of days so it works out fine, they get restocked just as I’m down to the last couple of pairs. I could manage on about 6 if I was really on it with washing them.

DD started with quite heavy periods straight away. Seems to run in the family as I was the same as a teen and all times outside contraception use.

She wore a Modibody overnight/heavy from 7am - 4pm on school days, on some days she added a pad first and then removed it at break.
At home, change to another one of those and then one for sleeping. So 3 heavy ones per day for the first 3 days.

She then moved to a heavy one during school time and a lighter one at home but back to overnight for sleeping.

I washed every 3 days when she had her period. I wash them separately as they go on a cold wash.

DD changes hers 3 times a day. Morning, after school, bedtime.
They get washed on a cool wash without fabric conditioner, so I like to do them in one batch. I’ve gradually built her a set of 9 pairs (they’re too expensive to buy in one go!). She’s now outgrowing the teen sizes so I’m replacing them with adult ones whenever I see an offer.

Oh wow good job I asked! Will get another pack of 3 then at least which takes us to 6. They are so expensive! And as she’s growing so much she will probably need a new set pretty quickly.

I would say ideally change them 3x in 24 hours I rinse mine in bathroom sink and put in washing machine or in the basket if I know I’m taking it down soon
