Bought this for my kitchen.

Had read LVT isgood, waterproof.

This floor has positive reviews!

DH usually lays our laminate but we are doing the whole kitchen up, DIY and he has a lot on his plate already so I asked some floor fitters.

Out of 3 of them 2 have refused to fit it due to that type of flooring having persistant ongoing issues and the 3rd recommended I return it for glue down LVT.

I spent £40 on delivery and would have to pay £40 to return it.

Is click LVT that bad?

Am feeling quite stressed now.

Anyone have this type of flooring and find it OK?

Yeah it's not durable and will quickly look shite. Worth the £40 to return IMO.

Willowskyblue · 30/01/2026 14:15

We had a Tapi fitter start the job but had issues with it clicking properly so it was uneven. He refused to finish it,phoned the supplier and we ended up having the other version laid.

If anything is misnamed as "luxury, it's this.

That sucks, I'm sorry.

We had some herringbone click LVT, all broke within 6 months- had to have it all taken up and replaced with laminate.
never touching it again, sorry

Sharkey123 · 30/01/2026 14:42

I was in the exact same situation a couple of months ago and couldn't find anyone to fit it, so I returned it and lost the £50.00 delivery fee. Figured it was going to cost more to replace the whole thing in the long run anyway. Doesn't make it any less annoying though, I feel your pain!

Depends on who fits it I think. I’ve got it in two rooms, both of which are used fairly the same amount. Floors were fitted about a month apart. It looks so good in the first one and you can barely see the joins. The second one is not so good, it’s not awful, but some of it has definitely shifted apart. Both were fitted about 2 years ago but one fitter took a lot more care than the other.

Iliketulips · 30/01/2026 16:42

We had glue down LVT fitted in our bathroom this time last year and then another fitted put down click LVT last May. The latter was harder to fit as apparently our floors weren't as level as he originally thought, and then in the downstairs toilet walls weren't straight - so those problems sound like our house, not the LVT. We're only eight months on from the click LVT, but looks as good as the glue down one.

Letsnotargue · 30/01/2026 17:41

I think like anything house related, the quality does matter. We’ve got click LVT in our kitchen, it’s been down for 2 years and looks great. It has a few scratches on it but that’s bound to happen. Our floors are a bit uneven, we fitted it ourselves and are really pleased with it. Suspended wooden floors meant we couldn’t for glue down stuff so we took a chance. Because click stuff is floating you can’t put the kitchen units on top of it - this made fitting the end panels a bit tricky but overall it’s been fine.

There is one small crack where the subfloor isn’t level but that’s our fault, not the floor’s.

My friend has expensive glue down stuff and it chips at the slightest thing - last one was when a travel mug fell out of a bottom cupboard.

24Dogcuddler · 30/01/2026 17:59

Our kitchen fitter put click together LVT in our newly fitted kitchen. We then had 2 floods in quick succession (one poor plumbing their fault one leak from front of new washer) Both times the water went under the flooring and it had to be taken up to let the floor dry.
We’d already had Karndean glue down in the bathroom and hall. We had the hall one continued into the kitchen. It looks great. Flooring company said they don’t fit click together.

I cannot tell you how much I WISH I could pay £80 to undo my fucking kitchen floor

SalmonOnFinnCrisp · 30/01/2026 18:09

Oh and the fuckers fitted UNDER the kitchen units so no one will touch it
AND o ly told what a pile of dhit they thought it was after it was fitted

Its looked horrendous for 5months or so after fitting and 3 years in look awful

TheNoviceOne · 06/02/2026 10:24

I think your fitter is saying not to get the click LVT, instead get the glue down. Our local independent store suggested the same, key is the floor has to be properly prepped and level.

JengaCupboard · 06/02/2026 10:30

Definitely get rid. We inherited some in a property and it was in awful condition - it had only been down 2 years.

UnaOfStormhold · 06/02/2026 10:52

Quality varies hugely, some is really thin and I wouldn't expect it to last. Look at how long a warranty they're prepared to offer on it as that will give you an indication of its durability.

I would return and get proper glue tile LVT. We have a mix of Harvey Maria and I think Amtrio and would highly recommend, it looks amazing but not cheap.

Lugga · 06/02/2026 13:02

I don't love ours. Our kitchen fitter recommended it but with hindsight I think that was because it is relatively low skill to fit. A flooring shop near us refuses to sell it.

However we have had water damage which has required taking up the floors, and at the moment I am immensely relieved to have something that gives floor access without damage.

Old fashioned sheet vinyl is way out of fashion now, but I think some of the highest quality sheet vinyls look and wear better than click vinyl.

Its not that easy though.

They don't offer a returns service directly. Somebody took the pallet it arrived on.

If i found another pallet I don't know how to attach it??

And it looks like it would cost £40 to return.

We have click LVT in our 4 bedrooms and it looks great and works so well. It gets mopped and doesn’t leak/warp/chip. It’s a brand called Quickstep

Sell on marketplace or similar? You'll take a hit but at least it will be gone
