Foot drop brace after ankle fracture recommendations

I had an avulsion fracture late October, was only sore for a couple of days but I still have foot weakness/foot drop and have unfortunately face planted the pavement a couple of times 🙈 and my confidence outdoors is at an all time low especially as a friend only slightly older than me(I'm 57) fell a couple of weeks ago and broke her hip! 😢

Just back from the NHS Physio and they have referred me to Orthotics but said while I was waiting I could try buying a foot drop brace online, and perhaps one to sleep in at night to keep foot at a right angle.

Has anyone used these things before and can recommend one?

I was given a foot drop brace by the NHS, but for a disability, not for a fracture. It was uncomfortable and i soon gave up using it and put up with the foot drop. I walk slower and use a walking stuck to ensure I don't fall.

If you are going to buy one, I would suggest not spending a huge amount of money, just try a cheap one until the referral comes through.

I am so frustrated after three months of this @tworottenapples and it is just a tiny taste of your challenges. It is so limiting, can't walk the dogs with my niece, go brisk walks with friends for exercise, can't run around with my great niece. Feel like I've aged 15 years overnight I am so fed up with it.

Thanks @LIZS your second link looks more like the ones she suggested and if that is what the NHS supply I will give that one a go.

Saw this attachment for it https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B011USSQVU?smid=AW6PY8O3HCXPX&ref_=chk_typ_imgToDp&th=1

which might help around the house/can try in bed and the comments suggested NHS provided that one too.

The first one looks torturous so will pass on that for now!

NHS can supply similar to the second but you may be expected to try the other one or have to ask for it.
