NHS decision impacted my life

I requested my records and found out I have false diagnoses made by various NHS clinicians. I can prove the reasons for the diagnoses are wrong. I also have evidence they didn't report a serious safeguarding concern. I complained and because it happened so long ago they say they can't 'investigate'. I don't know what that means for them anyway, but I don't see why they can't when all the reports and how they made the assessment are there on my records still. They wont fix the records unless they do another assessment but they've already done so much damage I don't trust them

I’m going to guess you were diagnosed with BPD or board line personality disorder and you actually have asd and adhd. I think this we will national scandal of misdiagnosed women come out in the next 10 years.

I don't know! I've been here for years so there should be LOADS!

Glad you managed to find them via Google.

You're the poster whose Mum lied to the doctors right?

Good grief...defensive and snippy!!!... @NuffSaidSam is only trying to establish the background history of where this may have come from!

LIZS · 28/01/2026 20:45

If you were a child at the time and your parent/carer actively lied the hcp will have made a diagnosis and plan based upon that information and whatever relevant input you, and perhaps professionals like teachers etc, had at the time.

ScarboroughFairy · 28/01/2026 20:47

I have reported the comment for de-railing as it has nothing to do with me

Which comment?

If it's the one asking about your mother lying to the medical professionals... which has led to the incorrect diagnosis... then it is actually very relevant and not derailing.

I want the diagnoses removed and an apology

To be perfectly honest that is not going to happen.

You can only really challenge a current diagnosis and treatment plan - and even then that's virtually impossible - they just add the new diagnosis on top.

I've volunteered as an independent mental health advocate for many years & virtually all female patients with contact with mental health services disagree with what's in their notes.

There's deep routed misogyny within psychiatry.

I would seek support from others within the community so you don't feel alone with it, and learn to move on but to be blunt they won't change anything in your notes.

Surely you just answer yes or no? No need to report it. It’s certainly not derailing IMO. Just out of curiosity, what was the incorrect diagnosis they put in your notes?

NaiceBalonz · 28/01/2026 21:40

Not going to happen.

People always disagree with MH diagnoses when they're well, but you were diagnosed when you were extremely ill, and they interpreted what they saw then.

ScarboroughFairy · 28/01/2026 21:41

It sounds interesting but they have accused me of being another person which could lead to other people giving advice about someone else's circumstances. i don't want to be judged and the speculation over whether my diagnoses' were accurate but the main one was schizophrenia. I feel like I'm not being taken seriously, I can't go into details

Ignore some of the messages on here, people really don’t understand unless they’ve experienced it. I am fighting a diagnosis too. The way MH services treat people is disgusting. How they can get away with it is unbelievable.

Not accused. Asked.

That's two quite different things.

And as pp said, why not just say 'No, that wasn't me'.

The good news is if it's isn't you there is someone with a very similar case to you on here. Hopefully you can find them and support each other.

someone was very confrontational about it and pushy so it is different to asking

I sympathise. I’ve got a long history of misdiagnosis, mis-prognosis, and mismedication by the NHS.

Hopeless for years . 🙄

Now, I listen to them, check up for myself, and do what I think.

ScarboroughFairy · 29/01/2026 19:14

I agree with my bipolar diagnoses
