Aftercare for seborrheic keratosis removal (with photo)

I had a seborrheic keratosis (about 1.5cm diameter) removed a week ago, with scalpel. I was advised to use a cream (Là Roche Posây Cicaplast) and a dressing if needed, and to absolutely not mess with the scab that’s formed (I wouldn’t!).
However - how long until I can leave it uncovered and apply make up to cover it instead? When I apply the cream obviously the scab is moist and then needs to be covered with a dressing when I go to work.
I’m thinking I should wait until the scab comes off (of its own accord) and until then persevere with plasters?

Ideally, you don't want a scab to form at all- Vaseline is the best thing you can do a few times a day and no need to cover with a dressing. If it scabs then the wound is too dry and it will scar.

Thanks! That’s very interesting but also strange as the dermatologist kept mentioning a scab and to be careful not to knock it or pick at it. I was confused as to how a scab can even form if it’s constantly moist from the cream!
I have to cover it, though, as it’s near my hairline and a) my hair sticks to the cream and b) I’m a teacher and it’s a bit too red and shiny to be displayed in the classroom!

I’ve not had this procedure but I did fall and had ridiculous deep graze/cut to my cheek and chin. I was told that to reduce the chance of scarring to keep it moist and not the a thick/hard scab form. The hospital gave me special dressing that kept the wound moist and I had to change them every three days. After 10 -14 days i could leave it uncovered and I think it was about 4 weeks before I put makeup over it. The dressings must’ve helped as I have no scars although I go have a patch on my cheek with less pigment and no freckles.

That sounds nasty!
Thanks for the reply. Ok, looks like regular applications of cream and covering it up for work will be the case for some time!
