I had a early medical abortion 5 months ago. My previous test came back negative and shop brought ones have also came back as negative. I had bleeding for roughly 8weeks after. I was 7 weeks pregnant at the time.

I currently weigh 8.09 and I'm 5ft 7 so at the lower end of a normal bmi which is a recent change but on purpose.

I can't go to the GP just now.

So you’ve missed 5 periods since your termination or you’ve missed 5 periods including the month(s) you were pregnant.

You really need a blood test to determine what levels of pregnancy hormones (especially hCG and progesterone) are present & you also need assessing for any signs of retained product, so please reach out to your GP - as these could be why you’ve not started your period.

Your Gp will also ask if you were having regular periods prior to the pregnancy?
& have you had times in your life where you’ve experienced Amenorrhea before? As it may not be related to the termination.

Your BMI may be contributing, but you need this investigating

Before I got pregnant my periods were pretty textbook. I have 3dc and had multiple miscarriages. That was my tenth pregnancy and the only one were my periods haven't returned. I've missed 5 periods now . I'm 34 so can't be age.

Going to gp really isn't a option unfortunately

Are you not registered with a Gp?

If you are registered but for whatever reason can’t attend, still contact them but ask for a telephone review

If going to the GP isn't an option, you might have some kind of sexual health clinic in your area which would be able to support. You do need to be seen or at least have advice from a medical professional though.

namezchangez · 24/01/2026 00:35

Why do you want them to return? Was it for medical reasons? You’ve got a lot of kids and are young and have been pregnant ten times already — surely you want your period to stay well away?

tripleginandtonic · 24/01/2026 00:38

Go to the GP OP

3dc isn’t “a lot of kids”.

Op could you get a phone consultation if you can’t get there in person? Or call BPAS or similar? (I’m not sure if you’re in the uk or where in the uk you are) but it does sound like you need some medical guidance if you had regular periods before.

Dagda · 24/01/2026 00:58

You definitely need proper medical advice right now, for the sake of your health. I’m not in the UK but here we have some women’s health Centers that would see you without being registered. There might be similar there. Please consider them

I stay in Scotland and I do have a gp. Lack of period doesn't bother me as such if I knew everything is fine it wouldn't be a issue. As I'm done having children.

Pay for a private online GP appointment? Honestly no one can really help you unless you see a doctor for investigation.

GardenCovent · 25/01/2026 07:32

But you don’t know everything is fine op, you need a doctors appt. Why cant you go?
