Experiences of laparoscopic gall bladder removal especially in someone under 30

Asking for DD who is quite stressed about this. It looks likely that she will have to have her gall bladder removed. Other than websites like NHS which are quite factual, most of the stories she has found about this in young people have been the ones with problems. She realises that this is probably because those who have a trouble free removal don't post. SO anyone who has had this procedure who could provide some reassurance would be gratefully listened to.

Also any advice on what to do/eat etc as she recovers.

25 ,years old ,while about 18 weeks pregnant,in 1999
I had mine out
I had three tiny incisions where they took it out
Went home the following day ,not supposed to lift anything for a while ,but I did lift my daughter and thus do have a small scar where one of the incisions opened slightly .
But yes. ,very easy operation
No advice given on what food to eat after or advice on what to expect bowel wise .
I didn't have any problems with either
But I'm vegan anyway .
There's nothing else to say really , except I very glad I had it out

I was over 30 when I had my lap.chole and I would say receovery was very straightforward.
Very little pain post op - a little sore yes but controlled on paracetamol
Home the next day - late op time
Wounds healed well- I had 4 I think

Found I needed an afternoon nap for 30mins or so for about a week after surgery but then found I had bags of energy - obviously hadn't realised how much it had been taking out of me.

Advice was to eat normally which I did and do and I've had no issues at all and I'm 7-8 years post surgery. No restrictions on dairy, fats, anything.
Maybe TMI - but the only thing I've noticed is my poo is a slightly lighter colour than before.

As much as anyone can say - I'd say it was all very straightforward with nothing to worry about

Easiest op I've recovered from! I was 24 at the time. I've had 3 other abdo surgeries and this was the least painful and the fastest recovery.

DD had hers out a few years ago, aged 18. Not much pain, just tired for a few days, no digestive issues, no long term impact whatsoever.

I also had mine out, aged 48 and was the same tbh. Only hard bit for me was injecting blood thinners afterwards which I struggled with.

Both of us were eating light meals for 48 hours then after that anything we wanted!

Thank you everyone - very reassuring for her.

Had mine out at 25, out of hospital same day. Off work for a week, 3 tiny insicisions that you can barely see anymore (7yrs later). Had a Chinese takeaway 2 days after op - no issues whatsoever 😂

My DD had this done when she was 27. The operation itself was very straightforward, although she had a bad reaction to the general anesthetic ( vomiting). She had to take a while off work as she’s in a job that involves lifting . Also had a 1 yo at the time so family rallied round during the day to ensure she could manage
She made a very quick recovery. As far as I can recall she ate a low fat / high protein diet initially but returned to normal after a couple of weeks .

Thank you - dd has been told low fat low fibre so I imagine she will use it as an excuse to eat a lot of tinned spaghetti hoops......
