Feeding Adults at Birthday parties

DD is 4 in a few weeks, having a church hall party with a bouncy castle.
Party is 11:30-1:30
Kids are having lunchboxes with pre chosen rolls (plus other things) looking at the numbers it is approximately 25 children, including my own.

We are planning on feeding the grownups too as it is bang on lunchtime.

How do I work out how many to cater for? Do I assume one adult per child or more? We have adult family coming too.

Menu is not going to be extravagant for grown-ups, some sandwich/wrap platters, crisps, biscuits and hot drinks (cake will be available for everyone!)

I wouldn’t. I’ve done many a party with so many lovely spreads and never gotten anyone to actually eat anything! 😂 It all goes to waste. Coffee/tea and cake is perfect. Everyone will have already eaten or have plans to eat after.

No they won't have eaten at 11am

OP it's absolutely the norm around here to feed parents especially if over a meal time. Some really inhospitable posters on here! Reminds me of that episode of motherland where Julia is ravenous after a day at work and goes through the bin for the kids leftovers as there's no food for adults. Really mean.

I wouldn't plan for a full meal per adult though.

Not a helpful answer but I just wanted to tell you that I misread what you were giving to the children as porn bears.

I don't know why everyone is giving you a hard time about feeding adults. This was the norm for us until around 6 years old and parties changed to be drop and go ones so no adults staying anymore. I would allow for 1.5 adults a child and your idea to go platters from Costco is spot on - sandwich, cookies, pastries.

Who is giving the OP a hard time? Quite a few har said it’s not the norm but haven’t seen any ‘hard time’ being given.
